Plugin ID 2395

The Plugin ID is written into your manifest.php pluginId automatically the first time a release is published.

Overview

This module allows sellers to offer customers United States Postal Service (USPS) shipping rates during checkout. The rates are pulled directly from the USPS API v3. This module innately supports versions 1.5.8 onward. (Support from 1.5.7 and backward is not necessarily guaranteed but it is plausible to use. Read the Installation steps in the readme for more details.) This script was primarily written with PHP8 in mind. (It might have problems working with PHP7.) --------------- This module replaces the now deprecated USPS Web Tools module that was previously available but was deprecated in 2026. You will need to obtain new credentials in order to use this module. Please read the read me or visit: https://github.com/retched/ZC-USPSRestful/wiki/Getting-Started

  • v1.8.6 Encapsulated Release ID #7821
    22 Sep 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0 Release by retched · 41 downloads · 194.6 KB ZIP

    ## What's changed in 1.8.6? Beginning with this version, the "purge_uspsr.php" file can be edited and ran from the extras folder in the event you need to erase all traces of the USPSr module. This includes database entries and files, (Only the original USPS logo that came with ZenCart will remain.) Please be exceptionally careful with it and DO NOT upload it into your live catalog's root directory unless you intend to use it. A similar tool can be found by visiting `index.php?cmd=uspsr_purge` in your Admin Area, this will require log in. ### Fixed in 1.8.6 - Fixed undefined constant warning that appeared in earlier versions of ZenCart (no Plugin Manager). [[#137](https://github.com/retched/ZC-USPSRestful/issues/137)] - Fixed an issue regarding the list of zip codes in the USPS Local. (Also added the ability to provide ranges of Zip Codes.) [[#135](https://github.com/retched/ZC-USPSRestful/issues/135)] - Fixed an issue caused by bad returns from the USPS API that would generate possible $0.00 quotes for shipping methods when it didn't apply. [[#139](https://github.com/retched/ZC-USPSRestful/issues/139)] - Fixed an issue that could cause the module to output a blank when there was no weight. Now the module will self cancel itself if the total items weight is zero or less. (A reminder that your items should have weights to them.) - Fixed an issue that might have caused the "Quotes not found" error message to display even if "Show Errors" was not selected in the configuration. Now if there are no quotes available, either because of no return from the API or no matching methods, the module will soft cancel (aka, it hides itself). If you want to display the "Please contact the store owner" message, enable "Show Errors" in the configuration. - Fixed an issue where the module was inconsistently sending the full weight of the order versus ZenCart's "box weight". ### Changed in 1.8.6 - Stopped sending letter quote requests for items that are too heavy for First-Class Mail (13 oz) or First-Class Mail International (15.994 oz). (These will ALWAYS generate an error... so rather than waste the request call, don't send it.) --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.8.5 Encapsulated Release ID #7736
    16 Jul 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0 Release by retched · 101 downloads · 188.6 KB ZIP

Added in 1.8.5 - Added new debug log message that will generate when the module installs or upgrades to the next version. Also improved the comparison mechanism between when the versions differ. (This prevents accidental downgrades.) Removed in 1.8.5 - Dropped the warning about lower-tiered API access. The USPS has bumped the request limits for basic tiers from 60 requests per hour to 10,000 requests per day. At that point, if you have a high-demand site that receives 10,000 hits per day, you should then reach out and request a higher level of access. [#128] Fixed in 1.8.5 - Once again fixed the issue of the zero weight carts not causing the cart to progress correctly. (This bug should have been fixed in 1.8.0 but it wasn’t. dbltoe from the Forums gave a fix that should patch it). [#133] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.8.4 Encapsulated Release ID #7643
    28 Feb 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0 Release by retched · 174 downloads · 189.6 KB ZIP

BUGFIX UPDATE - What Changed in v1.8.4? Fixed in 1.8.4 - Resolved an error from a bad page name being inserted into the DB that would not let people run the USPSr Uninstaller. [#126] - Fixed an issue that would create white page crashes on the customer side when a USPSr token would load in, but the module tried to load an error message meant for the admin backend. [#124] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.8.3 Encapsulated Release ID #7641
    27 Feb 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0 Release by retched · 39 downloads · 189.3 KB ZIP

What Changed in 1.8.3? Added in 1.8.3 - Added a warning about being on the “weakest” allotment of API pulls (aka “Public Support I”) in the admin backend. (You’ll normally see this when you install the module or upgrade from a version pre 1.8.x.) The warning will provide the user instructions on how to upgrade tiers. (Public Support I generally allots 60 requests per hour. At a minimum, this module eats 2 on each request. So in theory, you have at best 30 requests.) - Added the PHP Version, the ZenCart version, and installation method into the debug config report. (You would be surprised on how many people forgot to include this information on any bug reports or logs they send in.) Fixed in 1.8.3 - Fixed an issue that would generate PHP warning messages when a certain extraService was returned with no “extraService” code in the API. Resolved that by assigning it a psuedo-code and gave it a selection in the admin area. (This is a temporary fix until the API inevitably changes and gives it a number.) [#120] - Fixed an issue that had the USPSr module try to run the DB call to install the Tools menu link to add the uninstaller twice. (Once on upgrade and once on the same initial run.) Since the “Define” wasn’t properly in place, it effectively tried to go at it twice. This generated an error. Now the module will check to see if the admin page exists first (using the ZenCart function zen_page_key_exists), and if it doesn’t, THEN try to install the module link. [#121] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.8.2 Encapsulated Release ID #7639
    24 Feb 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0 Release by retched · 43 downloads · 186.9 KB ZIP

(Combined Release of v1.8.2, v1.8.1, and v1.8.0) What's Changed in 1.8.2 Fixed in 1.8.2 - Fixed a white screen crash caused by the redeclaration of zen_draw_label that was meant for the PHP5 version of module. [#117] What's Changed in 1.8.1 Fixed in 1.8.1 - Improved the uninstall script (?cmd=uspsr_uninstall) and purge (?cmd=uspsr_purge) scripts to run in the backend via either a link in the menu (traditional only) or direct access in the backend (traditional and encapsulated). This script is SEVERELY powerful. You MUST confirm that you want to run this script. (Which was noticebly absent on the first launch.) The "extras" folder version will still be available for advanced users and will not be included in the ZenCart Plugins Database release. (Will still be available on the GitHub repository.) - Fixed the weight checking algorithm that was introduced in 1.8.0. Older versions of ZenCart only have the $order->products[$x]['weight'] field instead of $order->products[$x]['products_weight'] that was being used. This caused an issue in earlier versions of ZenCart that didn't have that value set and thus was zero'd out which would mean the module has a zero weight. - Fixed a type-casting bug for product type check. (=== 1 vs. == 1 in short.) Also added a check for Gift Certificates to disqualify it from insurable value calculations. What's Changed in 1.8.0 Added in 1.8.0 - Added an uninstall script for traditional installs of the module. This uninstaller will be available in the Tools menu, but can also be accessed by accessing ?cmd=uspsr_uninstall in the admin area. This script will remove all files that you uploaded from the zip file (minus the USPS logo file), delete the entries in the configuration table, and self-delete the installer. This will only work if the module detects that it was not installed via encapsulation. [#61] - Created a "Purge" script that will completely uninstall all parts of the module. It will remove files in the traditional install and the encapsulated install while removing any configuration keys related to the module. (I got annoyed when people were just copying the entire folder into the ZenCarts and then complaining about the white screens and error messages they would receive because of the conflicts.) The script will NOT be included in any release and can only be obtained from the GitHub repository. [#114] Fixed in 1.8.0 - Fixed a minor formatting issue that resulted in some HTML entities being logged as part of the debug log. - Clarified the encapsulated uninstaller to look specifically for a file named uspsr.php. (Not uspsr(some character).php). - Fixed an issue (again) with the display of Priority Mail rates that were being hidden because of an uncaught Machinable/Nonstandard flag. This should work as necessary. This might pop up in other services, will keep an eye on it. [#109] - Fixed an issue that allowed a shop owner to effectively send out zero weight carts. The module will now not send a quote request unless at least ONE item has a non-zero weight to it. [#108] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.7.0 Encapsulated Release ID #7625
    18 Jan 2026 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0 Release by retched · 141 downloads · 168.1 KB ZIP

Added in 1.7.0 - Added guesstimation of international shipment deliveries. Will warn customers that it varies by country but could be anywhere from 8 to as much as 30 days away. The handling time is added onto these ranges and displayed as a result. [#105] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.6.2 Encapsulated Release ID #7619
    21 Dec 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0 Release by retched · 86 downloads · 166.7 KB ZIP

Omnibus Updates (combines what was released as 1.6.1, 1.6.0, together with additional changes that went unpublished 1.6.2 - (Originally released 2025-12-20) Changed in 1.6.2 - The module will no longer try to blindly add new configuration keys. Instead, it will check to see if the database key exists first and then try to insert it if it finds no match. Otherwise, it will update the value instead. Fixed in 1.6.2 - FINALLY got rid of the bug mentioned in [#78]. This required a soft rewrite of the "read-only" function. (Pretty much left the created "hidden" field off.) Will do more research into why this does not work. 1.6.1 - (Originally released 2025-12-18) Fixed in 1.6.1 - Fixed an issue that may cause upgrade/installation issues when a user upgrades an encapsulated install. (This was discovered after the 1.6.0 release. If you have a standard install, you can skip over this.) 1.6.0 - (Originally released 2025-12-17) Changed in 1.6.0 - Handling days are now added to the shipping days estimations. [#90] - Moved OAuth storage from system sessions to the database. [#88] Fixed in 1.6.0 - Expanded the list of APO/DPO/FPO Zip Codes. - Fixed the values of the services to match the newer options that were added on upgrade. (They didn't align with the changes in 1.5.2.) - Fixed an issue involving the calculation of services and add-ons. Values are now additive and not multiplicative. [#91] - Also fixed the math in the calculation of the order quote itself. (There was ambiguity in how the method's price and handling should apply. The math now works as stated in the repo Wiki.) - Fixed a potential issue when making service standards requests, and the resultant JSON file isn't in the proper form. [#93] - Fixed an issue that was preventing the configuration form from being submitted without an uninstall/reinstall on encapsulated installs during upgrading. [#78] --- PLEASE READ THE "README_1st.md" file FIRST This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.5.2 Encapsulated Release ID #7600
    19 Oct 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 113 downloads · 167.6 KB ZIP

What's Changed in 1.5.2? - Fixed an issue that prevented international shipping rates from being displayed due to a deleted variable instead of the class property set up in 1.5.1. [#86] - Fixed an issue that disadvantaged some users of First Class Mail International unnecessarily. Adjusted the default value of First Class Mail International to compensate. (If you're using First Class Mail International, this value will not be automatically adjusted on existing installs. For pounds, you can safely change the value to 0.999625 as First Class Mail International's maximum. For kilograms, you can safely change the maximum value to 0.4534228 as its maximum instead.) --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.5.1 Encapsulated Release ID #7599
    18 Oct 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 37 downloads · 167.0 KB ZIP

Unified Release (safe to upgrade from 1.5.0 or 1.4.x) What Changed in 1.5.1 Added in 1.5.1 - Added a parameter to the notifier `NOTIFY_SHIPPING_USPS_BEFORE_GETQUOTE` to handle the dimmensions of the package. This allows modules to cut in and modify the number of boxes and the average package size sent as part of the cart quote request. (Shipping Boxes Manager can now use this notifier. I'm not hard-coding in the older code from USPS WebTools.) Changed in 1.5.1 - Dropped the override machineability flag, internally. Instead, the module will retrieve the appropriate quote as requested. (Leave it up to the shop owner to figure out if it's machineable or not.) Does not affect "`NONSTANDARD`". (In other words, this does not remove any field but instead of having the module do the work in selecting the machineability status, the module will just pull up the matching rate from the configuration.) Fixed in 1.5.1 - Fixed the admin area functions file to search for the catalog area functions file and `include` that one instead of duplicating it. (Continuing the change from 1.5.0.) - Fixed an issue that would generate a PHP warning when errors are generated and a key was not found. [[#83](https://github.com/retched/ZC-USPSRestful/issues/83)] --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.5.0 Encapsulated Release ID #7590
    3 Oct 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 49 downloads · 175.3 KB ZIP

Added in 1.5.0 - Added the other notifiers (there was only one missing) from the original USPS WebTools module (one was changed due to differences between the code bases but their insertion points remain). - Added a change to see if "-rc" is appended to the version as to warn that tis is a developmental version. Changed in 1.5.0 - Changed the HTML code for the backend from <b> to <strong>. (This is not going to be updated on current installs.) - Improved the building of quotes. Broadly instead of the module doing a double iteration over the full list of selected methods and the entire resultant request from the USPS API, the module now indexes that pull and will hunt down the desired method by named key now. This should greatly help with the problem of slow API pulls. [#50] - Moved some helper functions and language files from the main module to a new extra_functions file. (This resolves the "can't visit the cmd=configuration&gID=6 page" error in the backend.) Fixed in 1.5.0 - Fixed an issue where Priority Mail APO/FPO/DPO Flat Rate Box rates wouldn't appear (the rate name was changed from the API pull) - Fixed an issue where some Priority Mail rates were missing under certain circumstances. [#79] - Fixed an issue where the cart would reduce the weight of the quote if it reached ZenCart's maximum weight. (Example: If the order is 85 pounds, ZenCart makes the order send a quote for 42.5 pounds instead.) The quote is supposed to be multiplied for each "box" in the order when configured for such. Additionally, the "order" fee is also multiplied. [#74] - Fixed an issue that would generate a warning when the module would try to request standards for services that don't provide them. (ie. Connect Local and all international shipments.) That problem is now squelched as the module will check to see such a result exist first before trying to access it. --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.4.0 Encapsulated Release ID #7568
    3 Sep 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 71 downloads · 160.0 KB ZIP

Fixed in 1.4.0 * Fixed logic behind testing if the USPS module should be enabled for a group #69 * Fixed logic on the same for the shipping estimator * Removed extra comma from old style language file. * Changed the function being used to display the version to a read-only function instead of a radio select. --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.3.2 Encapsulated Release ID #7563
    25 Aug 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 62 downloads · 157.7 KB ZIP

[The version replaces v1.3.1 due to it being shipped with bad code. This release comes with the patch introduced to the forums. If you installed 1.3.1 while it was available, it's recommended that you uninstall the module from the admin area, if it's active in ZenCart, then overwrite with the contents of this file.] Combined notes of 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 versions. Version 1.3.1 has been deleted from the ZenCart module directory and from the GitHub repository. Added in 1.3.1 - Added a field to the services list to give people a bigger "target" for selecting services. Changed in 1.3.1 - Changed the logic of how upgrade tests and actions are performed. Instead of looking at the newer, more recent versions first, the module will now start with the oldest and go forward. - Changed the logic in checking for newer versions of the module. (It should NOT be trying to compare the ZenCart stored version versus 0.0.0, there will ALWAYS be a "newer" version than 0.0.0 there.) Fixed in 1.3.1 - Fixed an issue where unencapsulated installs could potentially leave out necessary configuration keys. [#59] - Fixed an issue where the retrieved First Class Mail Letters quote would be short by $0.04. [#57] Fixed in 1.3.2 - Fixed an issue where an unnecessary code hint was causing problems in earlier PHP versions on the 1.3.1 version. That bit has been removed, and VSCode has been given a stern talking to. [#62] --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions in the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart are compatible with each version.

  • v1.3.0 Encapsulated Release ID #7556
    16 Aug 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 46 downloads · 154.6 KB ZIP

Added in 1.3.0 - Added support for First Class Mail and First Class Mail International to the module. Both will be automatically added to the table of services upon upgrading to 1.3.0, and additionally, processing class flags (Letters, Flats (or Large Envelopes), and Cards (such as Postcards) as well as machineability flags will be added. - Added a toggle to determine which API endpoint to use (the apis.usps.com endpoints should be used as the USPS API team is nudging everyone to that). - Added new <label> tag to checkboxes as needed. Changed in 1.3.0 - AuthTokens are now stored in the $_SESSION in PHP. Rather than generate a new AuthToken on every page visit, the module will check if there is already an AuthToken made and if there is not, THEN make a new AuthToken at that point. (AuthTokens last for roughly eight hours. So long as there isn't more than 60 requests per hour. If there is a chance you might go above that, no problem... simply request the API Team to provision you more requests.) - As part of the AuthToken request, the module will now send of the version of the module and the ZenCart version as the USERAGENT portion of the CURL request. - Running the v0.0.0 version from the Repository will now have a warning banner appear in the admin backend. That warning uses the messageStack system and will link to the ZenCart thread and this repository on GitHub. Breaking in 1.3.0 - Removed the module's ability to revoke AuthTokens in the module. (USPS API Support Team reported that there is a breaking fault on their side. To avoid the headaches, I just removed the revokeToken command and procedure. Will likely add in again later.)

  • v1.2.0 Encapsulated Release ID #7485
    16 Mar 2025 · Compatible with 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.0.0, 2.1.0 Release by retched · 154 downloads · 132.0 KB ZIP

To non-encapsulated users: starting with 1.1.0, you can simply overwrite the installation by extracting the files as directed. If there were any database changes, the module will self-correct. Fixed - Fixed an issue where the estimated delivery and estimated day count would repeat twice. (Ex: "USPS (Priority Mail [est. delivery 03/09/2025] [est. delivery 03/09/2025])) Still not sure where it came from but it's resolved. [#36] - Fixed an issue where an older version of ZenCart would try to invoke zen_db_perform with capitalized commands (`UPDATE` instead of `update`) and ZC just doesn't know what to do. [#40] - Fixed an issue where after selecting add-ons, you couldn't clear all of them off in bulk. In short, you had to leave one up and deselect the others. [#42] - Fixed an issue where the originating JSON request wasn't being attached to the log. [#43] - Fixed an issue that caused a crash when using the "Shipping Zones" function to limit where the module should be allowed. (This evidently was also an issue in lat9's USPS module as they were trying to move away from the legacy form of traversing `$db` output. Whenever the `MoveNext()` functionality is removed, that will cause a breaking change in the module as older ZC's will be left out.) [#44] --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. To non-encapsulated users: starting with 1.1.0, you can simply overwrite the file. If there were any database changes, the module will self-correct. Fixed - (v1.1.1) Resolved all issues regarding the selection of shipping methods during checkout. (Issues #28, #29, #30, #31) (Long and short run, there was a problem with the counting of each module presented and it caused issues.) - (v1.1.1) Fixed an issue that came up when trying to squash options but you were also using estimated dates/times (the squashing was ignored and all options were presented anyway due to bad regex matching). (Issue #32) - (v1.1.2) Fixed an issue that users had with selecting a shipping method and having it "stick". (There was an unused $method variable that was set by ZenCart that stored the selected method which is used to carry it forward but was ignored by the main logic and instead had the first option listed displayed instead.) (Issue #34) --- This zip file includes both the Encapsulated and Non-Encapsulated forms of the module. Please read the directions of the included README.html or README.md to see how to install it and which versions of ZenCart can use which versions.
