text calculated charges

I need help with figuring out how to get $letter or word_count and $letter or word_price for text attributes to show up on the shopping cart page(tpl_shopping_cart). I have tried adding atttr_value on the shopping cart page module. Have not got it right yet.
Have already added to the shopping cart page under the item being purchased the following: product name, price, item weight, ship weight, attributes selected with their price and weight. And, if there is a text attribute also add to page the text input, letters/word count and letters/word price total). Just like the Calculated Charge which appears on the product info page after item has been added to the cart. I have tried all I can think of but obviously I am missing something. The text shows up, but I cannot get the count or the price to show.
Also is there a way to make the text price and count live on the product info page as customers type in the text or after text is input but before you add to cart?

What are your Attribute Settings?

It does not calculate on the product_info page unless you return from the shopping_cart to the product where you will see it under the text ... it will show on the product_info page the charges per word etc.

Also, check your settings in Configuration ... Attribute Settings ... for:

Enable Text Pricing by word or letter
Enable the Attributes Text Pricing by word or letter.

Text Pricing - Spaces are Free
On Text pricing Spaces are Free

0= off 1= on

I am trying to program the added info into the shopping cart page. I realize that the Calculated charges do not appear until after your come back from the shopping cart page. But I would like that information to show up on the shopping cart page. Also, if possible on the product info page before going to the shopping cart page.

I am trying to get the Text Calculated Charges (letter count and letters price) to show on the shopping cart page under items name.
I have tried adding info to the includes/modules/pages/shopping_cart/header, includes/templates/my temp/templates/tpl_shopping_cart, and include/classes/shopping_cart but have had no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
