Squash Taxes Support Thread

This mod allows you to compress local taxes (computed by the Local Sales Tax mod) and state taxes into a single record. This is useful for systems which require a single tax record, such as Paypal and Cartspan.

Thanks for this mod, it will be really helpful for us!

I am running into a little issue. Using zc 1.5.5e. I installed the local tax mod, then squash taxes. I used the functions_taxes file from squash taxes since it is identical to the base version apart from your changes. But I am getting a fatal error:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_local_tax_rate() in /includes/functions/functions_taxes.php on line 46

which is this line:

$local_rate_pct = get_local_tax_rate($class_id, $country_id, $zone_id) / 100; 

It seemed like the extra_functions/smash_taxes isn't being loaded. So I tried pasting the function from smash_taxes into the top of functions_taxes and deleted smash_taxes. I still get the same fatal error. I am not understanding why this is happening so I am hoping you can shed some light on this for me.

Updated for 1.5.7 and the most current version of Local Taxes.

How is this contribution different from setting Configuration / My Store / Show Split Tax Lines to false?

I think that works well for taxes specified in the normal Zen Cart way but not for Local Sales Taxes (configured using that plugin).
