Coupon as a product that can be bought

Hi everyone. First of all, thank you for at least reading this thread :) A reply would be even better ;)

Anyway, I would like to know, how to make a product, that would in fact be a discount coupon or a gift voucher, that could be bought. After the purchase, a new coupon with a new unique code would be generated and emailed to the custommer (after having paid of course).

Is anything like that possible? Thank you again for any answers.

OK I solved this thanks to FAQ but another problem came up. I cannot choose a payment method during checkout

Please does anybody know how to enable the payment method choices for customers, when buying gift vouchers? I am desperate

What Payment Modules are installed?

Do you have Zones set on your Payment Modules?

I have only the standard ZenCart modules and I am not using any zones. Neither for coupons, neither for other products and I also have no zones set for modules.

I created the coupons obeing the FAQ. There however was a clause that stated that I should turn of shipping, as the GVs are a virtual product. Is it possible, that with the shipping, I have turned off the payment method selection too?

Make sure the Product is set up as:
Product is Virtual: Yes, Skip Shipping Address

Product Model: GIFT (and anything after that is up to you)

Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules

What version Zen Cart are you running?

Clean install or an Upgrade?

How did you install? How did you upgrade?

NOTE: you are not using the templates and overrides system for Zen Cart and on your next Upgrade you will destroy all of your customizations for your site ...

I have everything set as you said, in fact, I had it that way even before. I am running the 1.3.7.1 version upgraded from 1.3.7 with Slovak language update. Concerning the template, I only changed some images and the stylesheet, I also did some grammar correction to the Slovak language files and some html defines, so concerning the update, I simply won't overwrite these files, as they do not represent a threat (IMO).

Back to the situation with the coupons, first of all, thank you for cheking it out for me and secondly, I found out that if I put a coupon in the cart together with some other usual product(s), I can choose the delivery method, but the payment method is still automaticaly chosen and cannot be changed. Is it possible that there is a problem with the ot_gv module?
