removing some text

Brand new at this and have what is probably a very basic question:

At the top of my main page is some text that reads, "Sale message goes here" and I cannot find where to edit/delete that message. can anyone help direct me to the right place? It doesn't seem to be part of the defined text edit files. :unsure:

Check your "includes/languages/english/classic/header.php" line 21 approx.
I found this by doing a search in admin,tools, developers tool kit using "message goes" as my parameter. This handy little utility in Admin will save you hours of banging your head against the monitor.

Thanks for the info. I found it, but I don't know how to edit it. I am VERY green and very new to all this! Can anyone explain where/how I can actually change the text? thanks!

you need to actually edit that file.

you will see those words in a ' ' field and a few other things you might want to edit there also.
