Volume Discount

Our pricing structure is set up that one to three items is $4 each. If the customer buys four items the cost is then four for $15. If they buy 7 items the cost would be $27 ($15 for the first four and $12 for the next three).

How do I set this up so the pricing works based on the purchase of four items for a reduced price and then for items five through seven for full price in addition to the discounted price?

You will need to set up Product Attrbute for that.
You will need some thing like this: Note the Customer will decide on what price he or she whats.
The first part would be your base price which is $4. That's in you Product ie selling price is $4. Attributes must be turned on to Yes in your Product page
The Product Attribute would we somethink like this, use
**buy four or more the price is $15 **ie so you would make the First Attribute minus a dollar.
**buy seven or more the price is $27 ** ie so you would make the Second Attribute minus 3 dollars (or whatever it is).

You could look at the Product Price Manager and the Discounts ...

At the bottom of the screen, when you hit EDIT, you can add 1 to an unlimited number of Discounts based on quantity and either an actual price or a percentage or an amount off ...
