Default Re: CSS Dropdown menu for the header- With Categories!

I'd like to change the level1 text color for the CATEGORIES ONLY to draw the customers attention. In other words, the "CATEGORIES" text would be red but the other menu listings (Contact Us, Home, etc) would be dark blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Ok, I got it. A bit of a cheat but it worked. In the tpl_drop_menu.php I changes the CATEGORIES link to this:
    Code:
    <li class="submenu"><a class="productfinder" href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_SITE_MAP); ?>"><font color="#ff0000"><?php echo 'Products'; ?></a></font>
                  <?php
This changed the font color to #ff0000, replaces "Categories" with "Products" and allows me to style the link backgroud etc. if I want with the class="productfinder".

Thank you for the support here.

Again.. vague.. Telling us "I have installed your package and attempted to place this in to my coding but failed at this also" says absolutely nothing..

"Broken", "doesn't work" aren't helpful descriptors because it presumes we know what you mean by these terms and can see the issues you see too.. you need to provide DETAILS about what happened.. error messages, behaviors, etc.. a link to your site is sometimes helpful. But bottom line is you need to be a LOT more descriptive in order for anyone in the community to help..

As for the rest of your post.. You add a menu to your site by installing this module.. That's the purpose of the module.. There's no "coding" involved in installing add-ons as you are simply adding some modified files to your site. Not sure what you mean by a tutorial, but nearly EVERY add-on/module in the free downloads comes with some sort of readme file which contains instructions for installing the module and/or how to use it as well as troubleshooting tips. Not all readme files are created equal. Some module authors do a REALLY good job on these user docs (this module is one of those), others, not so much.. The point is your FIRST step when installing a module is to read the readme FIRST. When you have issues the FIRST place you should consult is the readme..

Excuse me? It seems you focused on the statement not the question..
There is a link provided!?!?! How have you not noticed this yet wrote that whole comment that does not completely make sense....

my question; what I'm trying to figure out is how to add a drop down to my current navmenu?

your response; You add a menu to your site by installing this module.. That's the purpose of the module.

Ok, so merely am I asking if there is a way to add a drop down to my current menu with out installing another menu?

I don't mean to sound rude, just shocked.. what the.. you have used this statement "Broken", "doesn't work" aren't helpful descriptors . Where in my comments have I even used these words? again it would be great if you made complete sense.

Sorry, but it was not clear from your previous posts as to the nature of your question/issue.. and one of your posts IMPLIED that you had installed this module and had issues (though you did not state what those issues were -- hence the "Broken", "doesn't work" reference)

As indicated on page one of this thread, this is a support thread for a menu module called Horizontal CSS Drop Down Menu with Categories.

You can see this mod in action at http://www.applezen.sagefish.com/

It is also integrated into the Apple Zen template found here:

If you have questions regarding the installation and configuration of the Horizontal CSS Drop Down Menu with Categories mod, then this is the right place to post those questions..

However if you have GENERAL "how do I add a dropdpwn menu without installing this module" questions (which it appears that you do), then you will need to start a NEW thread to pose this question to the community.. Like other similar threads, the support thread is for questions regarding the installation/use of the Horizontal CSS Drop Down Menu with Categories add-on/module. Any discussions not directly related to support for this module need to be posted in their own thread.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

I need a bit of help. I have just installed this mod and it's just what I needed. However, I can't figure out how to get rid of the extra "HOME, LOGIN" at the top ( the original ZenCart Nav bar ). How can I get rid of it? I've searched this thread and have seen the question asked several times but I do not understand the answers given. What exactly am I supposed to remove in the tpl_header.php file?

And also, how do I get my logo back to it's original size? It shrunk after I installed this mod. Sorry if I missed the answer somewhere. Here is a link to my site so that you can see what I mean - http://www.kaydanae.com

I'd pick another color than red for your Products link. It doesn't work well with the blue background, to my eyes anyway.
