Additional Images Duplicating And No Large Size Pop Up When Clicking On

I have upgraded my site from v.1.5.8 to v.2.1 and with having such a large Images folder, I did not import it into my test site.

My problem is that when going to a product page, I have active settings to allow IH to handle resizing and have set to have 5 images per row. What is happening is I have duplicate images of each additional image, 1 image/row all in a larger size with no ability to click on the photo to make it larger.

I have always used Image Handler for uploading and dealing with additional images. I have installed and uninstalled this plugin several times, thinking it was the plugin, but thought I'd try a new approach testing at each stage.

I have now completely uninstalled IH and everything (except the .htaccess) from the bmz_cache folder. I received the green confirmation in Admin when uninstalling IH that all uninstalled successfully and also verified by going through each folder in my site and comparing them to the IH files to insure they were all removed.

Now when I go to a product page....I have the exact same problems with the additional images as mentioned above. I have one image in the Images folder at 432px x 432px and the same named image with a "_LRG" at the end of the filename (864px x 864px) placed in the Images/Large folder.

Can anyone shed light on why it would be duplicating?

I am leaving Image Handler uninstalled to create less variables and confusion.

What template is in use? Could you give us a list of the names of the files that are displayed as additional images?

I have a custom template (same template as was used on my v.1.5.8 Zen cart, just merged and updated to v.2.1). Nearly every product in my store has additional images....but if I am understanding your question correctly you are looking for the names to insure that I don't have a naming issue.

One example of the additional images name(s) is:
In Images folder - thedetails_journalcards_01.jpg
In Images/Large folder - thedetails_journalcards_01_LRG.jpg

No, unfortunately it didn't. In working with and trying to fix this image problem....it seems like the stock Zen Cart is automatically calling up and displaying the LRG image of any additional image in a product page. Also, when installing Image Handler and turning it on to let IH resize images, Zen Cart doesn't seem to recognize this change and relinquish control to IH....it continues its original path and does not throw any errors in the Debug Log.

Any thoughts??

I've tested on zc210's responsive_classic template with and without IH active and had no issue.
