I am using Google Checkout and Zen V.1.3.8. How do I remove the status history from showing up in the "My Account" section for customers?

You should just turn off the "My Account" branch all together in the site map. You don't want search engines to attempt to index any of those account pages anyway. They cannot index them because they cannot log in as a real member. Instead they end up getting redirected to several log-in pages which looks like duplicate content to them.
Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Site Map - include My Account Links?.........set this to no.
Fields marked required must be completed.
