Installer is displaying a blank screen in XAMPP

I am using XAMPP SERVER, PHP 5.1 on my XP Pro system. During installation, it gets to STORE SETUP and as soon as a click SAVE SETTINGS it takes me to a blank screen.

When I click on the BACK button, it complained of PHP Session, Enabling Cookies and Writing to the cache folder. The PHP Session is ok, I uncheched the READ ONLY on the Cache folder and I enabled cookies. All to no avail

I use OSCOMMERCE on the same system and it works just fine.

Does your server have a /zc_install/includes/modules/pages/config_checkup/header_php.php file? or is it missing? If it's missing, you'll have problems. Some people have reported that it didn't upload properly via FTP and ran into similar troubles are you're stating.
Or maybe your configure.php files aren't writable.

I'm having the same problem. I have the header_php.php-file and config-files are writable. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Have you added the PHP 5.3 patch?
