Newbie needs help with Access to Admin area

Hi
As you can probably tell I am a newbie.
I have just gone through the process of installing Zen Cart 1.3.8a
At the end of the process if I click on the take me to my shop option it will take me to the shop just fine, however, if I click on the take me to admin it comes up with the following message...

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/carryonc/public_html/zen_cart/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 2395

I also tried to type in https://www.mydomain.com.au/admin/login.php and I get the following message...

*404 Not Found
The server can not find the requested page:

https://www.mydomain.com.au/admin/login.php (port 443)
Please forward this error screen to www.mydomain.com.au's WebMaster. *

Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.13 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at https://www.mydomain.com.au Port 443

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with this.

I would greatly appreciate it. Please go easy with the technical lingo. I am a learner!

Re: Newbie needs help with Access to Admin area

This may be the result of a failed file upload during FTP. Sometimes, files are corrupted during transit over the internet, and this will result in such failures.

As your site is not live and trading, go back into your FTP, and RE-SEND the folder called admin.

Allow your FTP program to OVERWRITE the original admin folder and its contents.

This might clear the problem, if not, come back here.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I tried reloading the admin file with no luck so I decided to delete it all and start all over again. IT WORKS!! Thanks again.

... sometimes the best option if you are a first-timer and the initial install goes pear-shaped...

That's not limited to newbies either.

I just wish people would take heed of the install instructions included on the mods, when it says TAKE A BACK UP it's written for a very good reason
