Postcode Auto Fill support thread

Hi. I just installed the Postcode 2.0.8 but I cannot make it work. Per your instruction, during the OPC checkout page, I first filled the zipcode, but the city & state didn't pop up/fill automatically. I verified the zipcode in the datafile (zones_to_post_code_us.php).

If you edit your address during checkout with OPC, this plugin won't work because OPC completely changed the structure of the form (dom), fields have different names which JavaScript needs to know to manipulate them.

In other parts of ZC (create account, edit address in my Account), the plugin still works.

I will see if I can make some custom files for OPC, but it may take some time.

Right, that's because OPC makes a distinction between the address fields for the billing address and shipping address.

Those fields might be temporary (like in a guest checkout) where the 3-page checkout's processing stores the address fields in the database so the address is based on the billto/sendto address-book id.

For those in need of a solution for One Page Checkout plugin, you can use the actual GitHub code tagged OPC.

This is not a release yet, it is the development version 2.1.0 with a quick fix for OPC and that should be OK for MariaDB databse too.

Dbltoe came up with a better code that will eventually be available in version 3.0.0 with other changes.

This an important bugs fix and update:

Fixed problem with missing Japanese collation for MariaDB users. These Japanese special collations were not necessary anymore but I forgot to update the SQL install file.

Added compatibility with OPC. This is a quick temporary update until v3.0.0 better code is released.

Few bugs fixed by dbltoe:

• A lowercase installer/ is never found on case-sensitive (Linux) hosts. Renamed folder to Installer (uppercase i)
• A stray space before <?php in the observer was sent ahead of every page.
• Redirects are blocked only for the plugin's own lookup request, not for every ajax.php call (including One-Page Checkout's and payment modules').
• Stylesheet loaded on every pages; the PowerTip stylesheet (now jquery.powertip.min.css) loads only on address pages.

US postal codes database updated by ncjyx. Lots of postcodes were missing in original database. Thanks ncjyx!

Japanese postal codes database updated to 09/2026 data.
Name 'Postal Code Automatic' changed to be consistent and use 'Postcode Auto Fill' everywhere.

If you did not customized your postal codes database and started to use this plugin with versions older than 2.0.1, you should delete them before updating to get fresh updated data. Last database udpdate might not have performed as required.

If you installed this plugin after v2.0.1, then the updater will take care of the database update.
