No rates for UPS United Parcel Service

A client is getting "We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping. Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown." from the UPS shipping module. I checked another client and same thing.

It appears the UPS endpoint is down or has been removed.

Seeing this also. The older UPS module seems to still work.

UPS or UPS-XML? The latter just pulled in quotes from UPS on one of my test sites.

The UPS does not work. The USP XML does.

I'm getting failures from both.

I installed the UPS XML module and it's working fine. I can't confirm, but it appears to be one of those two with the regular UPS module.

I also don't get any rates with the standard module (https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1293).

Is the UPS XML a better option to use? Looks like it's updated more often.

Confirmed, UPSXML is working as long as there's no zone restriction. There's some issue with restricting it to a zone (beyond the issue I filed earlier).

I'm using a shipping zone with UPS XML and it's working. It's not on the Shopping Cart page, but I have not figured out why. It does during checkout. though.

I spoke with UPS tech-support yesterday evening and they confirmed that they're having issues with the 'legacy' endpoint (https://www.ups.com/using/services/rave/qcostcgi.cgi). They're working to find the 'root cause' and don't have an ETA until they know what the base issue is.

My suggestion, based on the email received from UPS earlier this week, is that anyone using the UPS shipping method (whose communication with UPS will be updated over the summer) should:

1. Register at UPS for an account: https://wwwapps.ups.com/doapp/signup?sysid=myups
2. Once you're registered, Request an Access Key using this link: https://www.ups.com/upsdeveloperkit?loc=en_US
3. Write down the XML Access Key; you will need that key to enable the UPS XML shipping module.

Note that UPS will no longer distribute new access keys after June 4, 2023! If you are using UPS to ship your products and this legacy endpoint fails again, you will be sh*t-out-of-luck!

I did put in a request to the tech-support reps that I spoke with to pretty-please provide an extension to that date, but that's going to depend on what the development group says.

I followed the directions provided to get the UPS XML access set up to request "UPS Rates Access Key". This option doesn't appear to exist anymore. It's all done w/ the OAuth authentication.

I ended up with OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret. But no Rates Access Key.

FWIW, the more people calling in with this request, the more likely that the request will be honored. "The sticky wheel gets grease".

I installed UPS XML and it is now working for both my websites. I don't know who long it was like this but I had a bunch of folks create accounts and not buy anything. It would not give rates, but people could buy stuff if it was over 1 lbs,it pushed it to UPS Ground.

The no Key thing is what I read too, but UPS XML did not work for me. I went back into my UPS account and was able to get a key. I had to search for it in Google, UPS search did not get me there. It kept taking me in a loop. It came in an email and when I put it in , it worked.

I was able to get an access key from UPS. The UPS XML is installed and generating rates on our 1.5.8 cart. Is there anything I can do for our 1.5.5 cart?

Ok. I have the 1.5.5 up and running as well. Sorry about that. After I realized there must be an older version of the UPS XML plugin I went to download it but it wouldn't allow the download. I thought the plugin had been removed. lol. Security token had expired. ;)
