New Product for the month box...please HELP!!!!

Please can anyone stop me from pulling my hair out??!

I'm having so much trouble with the box on my home page for New Products for July. It's still showing products that I uploaded in previous months, right back to March when i set everything up and not just products for July. What I really want is only the most recent additions (the last month) to be displayed. Is this possible?

I've done some searches on this forum and one suggestion given to another member was to change the settings on Admin>Config>Max Values but I don't appear to have an option under Max Values that would limit the age of items displayed on the number of items displayed.

I've asked my hosting company who installed zen for me but they weren't very much help to be honest. Pretty please could someone point me in the right direction?

I believe the setting you're after is under configuration/index listing near the bottom special/featured products columns per row.

Thanks just had a look. I don't want to change how many products images are shown, I just want to limit it to the most recent ones being shown. At the moment my entire stock takes it in turns to be shown as a new product for July. I don't think I'm explaining it right. Sorry. Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense:

Change your settings in the Admin>Configuration> Maximums> New Product Listing, Limited to ...

I don't seem to have that option. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME & MY ZEN CART???!!!

But no 'New Product Listing - Limited to ...' only New Product Modules which just changes the number of images displayed.

ARGH! My host installed zen cart for me. Have I been given a dodgy version?!! ;)

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

(along the top of your admin page there should be a link "Version" that should tell you)

I think i should be marched to the nearest opticians immediately.

I've spent all morning checking and double checking the list of options under Admin>Config>Max Values for the elusive New Products Listing - Limited to option.

It wasn't there.

I'd have put money on it. But the PC pixies have sneakily just added it to the list and I've just spotted it.

Sorry. I am officially a complete donut. I am hanging my head in shame and rushing to the bathroom to dye my hair blonde as we speak.

If you weren't so busy setting up your Zen Cart I'd suggest you browse through all my posts to see how often the last entry begins:

"Oh - it was there all the time....", "Sorry - I've just found it..." and "Ooops - it was may fault all along..."

At least that would make you feel better! In fact - the last one was entered just this morning! :blush:

As long as you post your answer so anyone searching the forums for the same issue can find the solution easily then you've done your bit! :D
