Tax is taking away not putting on!!

Hello newbie here! so possibly a new be question

When entering products when it comes to taxable I enter €1,000 in the product gross ( I'm guessing the gross price should be the total price including the tax

When I click preview it says €781.10 and when I click up date the price entered in the catalogue is €781.10

The tax rate is 21% but it seems to be taking it off instead of putting it on!!

The store cnfiguration is set to

I've setup the Zen Cart VAT system as recommended in several posts in this forum and according to the articles of the FAQ system.

My country tax is setup correctly to 21% in the zones definitions and tax rates, I have a Taxable Goods class and so on. I've already double (triple) checked everything, namely the shop configuration.

When I open a new product and fill in the net price of, for example, 100 euros, in the field Products Price (Gross) shows (correctly) 121 euros. Until now everything is ok.

The problems starts when I hit Preview: the price changes to 78.11 euros, without any possible explanation. When I validate that and go to the front end, the newly added product shows with the price of 94.51 euros which is the 78.11 + 21% of VAT !!! I don't know where this 78.11 value comes from...

Sincerely, I starting to get nuts !!!

Update Have solved the problem.

thanks to some one else with the same problem!!

The problem was the currency figure for Euro (the default currency) was .781, it had to be reset to zero. I then delted dollar.
