Zen E-mail not working

Hello every one.
Ok I just noticed that my Zen-cart email is no working 100% I every time I have a new customer sign up the don't receive any email confirmation or an order confirmation. I have been messing with the email configuration but I still can figure it out. I seem to be getting the order confirmation to my email that is provided but again my customers do not get any sort of email. has anyone encounter a similar problem? I tried looking for similar threads but I guess I'm looking in all the wrong places. can anyone help me? I am using Zen-cart 1.3.5.

I to am having this problem. All I should have to do is choose sendmail, I have tried sendmail -f I have tried with "Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS" turned on and off, My host provider installed Zen Cart 1.3.6 through Fantastico.

their zen cart install info says:

sendmail_from no value no value
sendmail_path/usr/sbin/
sendmail -t -i/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

My server uses the following:
Operating system Linux
Kernel version 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp
Machine Type i686
Apache version 1.3.37 (Unix)
PERL version 5.8.5
Path to PERL /usr/bin/perl
Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
PHP version 4.4.4
MySQL version 4.1.21-standard
cPanel Build 10.9.0-CURRENT 82
Theme cPanel X v2.6.0
cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC36)

If you're running v1.3.6, there is an alternate "Email Transport" method: "php", which will likely work better for you.

If you're running v1.3.5, then trying each of the transport methods in turn is your best option. For the SMTP choices, be sure to also fill in the various SMTP settings at the bottom of the Email Options page.

I have 1.3.5 and everything works but my customers do not get any emails, I get the email that the cart sends when someone places an order but they dont get anything. my web host is be-hosted. it use to work before but then it stopped working. I dont know why.

Ask your host what changes they made to the email system.

What next! I have finally completed by ZenCart and e-mail does not work! Then my hosting company sez the only solution is to upgrade to 1.3.6 from 1.3.5.

I just want e-mail to work. My hosting compnay sez the settings are correct, smtpauth, proper password with proper smtp settings. I can send and receive trough outlook but my ZenCart will not send. What do I do?

There are several fixes in v1.3.6 that you will really want besides anything for the email ...

Upgrading to v1.3.6 is not a horrible ordeal ... but you do want to upgrade before attempting to go live ...
