Free Shipping for People with Discount Code

I want to set it up so only people I give the discount code can get free shipping on their order. Is there any way to do this? I can't figure out or find any posts on it. Thanks.

Send individual, unique codes to people and first person to claim it wins ...

Or, use the same code and only send to those you want to have it, but remember again ... first person to claim it wins ...

Or, customize the Discount Code that not only must the Discount Code be added but it must match the customer you sent it to ...

That's what I WANT to do. The problem is when I go to create a coupon I only have the option for percent or price off, I don't have the option for free shopping as a coupon code. Am I doing something wrong?

NOTE: Discount Coupons have 3 choices ... you may NOT mix the 3 choices:

1 Percentage Off

2 Amount Off

3 Free Shipping

So if i understand this correctly if i wanted to offer a coupon that gives free shipping and 10% off i'm unable to do this?!

also when I setup a coupon to have say 10% off and i save it, if i go back and look at the coupon I just made it says 10.000 in the box (NO % SIGN ANYWHERE)... is that giving 10$ off or 10% off?

What version Zen Cart are you running?

Clean install or an upgrade? How did you do the install or the upgrade and from what version?
