Sending Gift Certificate to non-customer

I would like to send out a gift certificate as a contest prize - the winner of the contest is not a registered customer. What is the best way to handle this? Thanks. Kelley.

in you ZC admin go to Gift Certificate/Coupons-> Mail Certificates, fill out the form w/ the persons emails address.

sorry to be so dense here - but do I have to purchase a GC myself and attach it or how is this email giving them a gift card? Kelley.
