salemaker for 1 category

I set up a 10% off salemaker rule for 1 category. The sale is not reflected on the product pages of that category. Have I missed something? My general catalog page shows a .10 discount on the category line, but the products dont.

What might I have missed?

Are all the Products in the Category that is on Sale using that Category as the master_categories_id ...

No, I guess not. Some are linked from other categories. If I change the master ID on the product, will it change the master ID on the link as well?

Products all have 1 master_categories_id and this is the one used for pricing for things like Sale Maker ...

You can Link the Product to as many Categories as you like, but you have to decide which Category "owns" that Product ... this is the master_categories_id and this is where Sales from Sale Maker will built the Product display price based on that master_categories_id ...

So, if you need all the Products in categories_id 23 on Sale, then you want all of those Products to have the master_categories_id of 23 ...

If you go to the Product and hit C for Copy ... at the bottom is the Multiple Categories Links Manager ...

There are settings in there to update all the Products in a Category to a new master_categories_id ...

When I click on 'multiple categories manager' I am looped back to the admin login....I remember trying that in the past and having the same thing happen....

I have not run across that before ...

You might try to close all browsers, clear your cache and cookies then see if that works ...

Or, for giggles try IE if using FireFox or FireFox if using IE ...

it does work in firefox! I tried it again in IE7 and it still loops back to login.....any ideas since i use IE 99% of the time.

Perhaps try closing all IE7 browsers, clear the cache and cookies and see if the miracle occurs ...

Have a trusted buddy with IE7 who can peek and try to repeat this issue on a different computer?

nope. no change. I will have my client try her admin panel today and let you know. If there was only a direct way in there....

Backup both your site and database then reload all the files and run the:
/zc_install

see if this doesn't correct this issue ...

OK I stumbled into something. I was reading about SSL and I noticed that just the login page of my admin was secured. I wanted all pages in the admin secured. I checked my configure file and found the enable ssl admin was set to false. And I made changes to the http server lines to be https://. I went back into the admin and now the categories manager came up for the first time. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket.
