Installing updated version with extra mods

Hi,
I'm about to download latest zen-cart, but somewhere I've seen mention of things like cross sell etc. being available as a prepackaged install.
Does my memory serve me right? I'm not very good at installing add ons so if anyone knows of a full download that includes a few extras (perhaps "better together") plz tell me :)

Also,
I have a shop already running from my data base. I'll be installing a new cart on the same server, but wondered if it can just share the same data base as my existing one?
I'm very happy with my old zen shop, just want to have the latest version, so thought id copy all the files over slowly and surely....

There are over 700 add-ons, and although some web hosts may tweak what they include in their free install services, there are no publicly available distros trying to keep up with them.

Most however come with installation instructions and are easy to install provided those instructions are followed.

You can run two Zen Carts from the same database, as long as both Zen Carts are at the same release level and that matches the database.

Glad I didn't try to run off the same database, as they were different versions...

I've backed up an SQL database from the old version...
Will this be ok to upload over the database from my new zencart 1.3.1.7?
