Upgrade Linkpoint Module only 1.3.7 to 1.3.8

Hello All,

I've just spent two weeks customizing our site with v1.3.7 and voila v1.3.8 is out.

In leu of a total upgrade I upgraded the login pages for security increase and was wondering if there is an easy way to just upgrade the Linkpoint Module.

Can these files overwrite the originals or are there database changes as well?

Since we are just starting with Linkpoint I'd like to use the latest and greatest if possible.

Any ideas.

I've not tried it, and haven't looked at the code to confirm, but you can likely just take the linkpoint-related files and use them directly.

But keep in mind that v1.3.8 contains a years' worth of bugfixes and improvements ... might be worth planning the upgrade sooner than later. No point banging your head against the wall on something already fixed in the newer version :smile:

I went ahead and gave it a try.
To anyone else who tries this you'll need to upload these files:

/admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/linkpoint_review_customers_dhtml.php
/includes/languages/english/modules/payment/linkpoint_api.php
/includes/modules/payment/linkpoint_api.php
/includes/modules/payment/linkpoint_api/linkpoint_api_admin_notification.php

You'll also need to upgrade this file as you'll get an undefined method sniffer error during install if you do not.

/includes/classes/sniffer.php

Everything looks ok (no errors during install)
I get the final info from Linkpoint to finish tomorrow - so I'll post an update when everything is tested.

That looks about right.

Be sure to "remove" and re-"install" the module in your Zen Cart admin area before configuring it ... otherwise you'll be dealing with old settings.

Received my Linpoint API PEM file today.

Set up LinkPoint with the new info - works like a charm.

I just have to say I worked with osCommerce for the last 2 years on my other store (still up and running) and really liked osCommerce.

I had to switch to another cart for my new store for better handling of large databases.

I have to say that while similar, ZenCart simply Rocks!

Better code, cleaner installs, the works!

Thanks to Dr Byte and all those involved in making ZenCart as wonderful as it is. I'll be buying a cup of coffee soon to show my appreciation.
