Issues With Hosting Company - please let zencart users read this to be informed

Please let this message stay on the forum - I am not alone and I am not venting - it allows people to make a good decision about hosting investment.

I have used Sashbox sucessfully for a number of clients for 2 years. Sadly over the last few months things have now not gone too well. It is not appropriate to share full details but we have experienced:- services paid for and not delivered and Unauthorised transactions made on stored credit card details. Thankfully this is covered by card protection in the UK.

I am very sad to have had to move hosts - but this is quite simply an unprofessional service.

Can I also ask that zencart consider removing the sashbox banner ads from the install package?
As I understand sashbox is not a current recommended host, and it would appear by doing so that SASHBOX is still endorsed.

I can only echo the sentiments. After a couple of OK years, I decided to move due to the zero support. However, after cancelling the account, and moving my domain back to the UK, sashbox continue to make regular attempts to debit my credit card, which, fortunately, has since expired.

To date, all attempts to contact them by email and support ticket remain unanswered, and failed debit card transactions continue to arrive in my email, regularly.

To continue to advertise sashbox can only reflect badly on zen-cart, which would be a shame.

I dropped them last year (last spring in fact). In attempt to get their attention I posted some unfriendly things on zencart after they didn't answer my calls for over a month regarding serious hosting issues. They immediately erased my account. I luckily backed up most of my sites, but I lost one that i had put a few hundred hours into.

I am not trying to start anything, but, I went to the Sashbox website, and it still says:

"And we must be doing something right. We have never had a Zen Cart or osCommerce client leave for another host. (knock on wood)"

In light of the problems, including customers leaving, over the last year that have been written about on this forum, Sashbox should probably remove that statement from their about us page.

I remember this well VOLTAGE, and again to reiterate, its a shame that sashbox could not have addressed your issues back then as it was around this time that I also had some problems with the service.

Regardless of the statements made in this thread, I cannot believe that "any" Hoster would publicly state "they have never had a Client leave", specialized Hosting or not. I seriously doubt any Hosting company in business today could make that claim.

To make such a claim on their site and knowing that Clients have left, as evidenced in this thread, doesn't look good at all. Especially for them but also the Hosting Industry in general.
