Questions about RSS Readers

Even though I have been in the business since the early 80's, I am not up on programs designed to read & manage RSS feeds.

I am looking for a program that will run on either Windows and/or Linux (ubuntu - gnome) that will AUTOMATICALLY search subscribed feeds and alert me when a list of pre-defined keywords are found.

I have been looking for articles that I can post intelligently on that are discussing the products that I am involved with.

Is this possible? Automatic is the keyword!

Some options might be Google Alerts or possibly Yahoo Pipes, rather than a feed reader as such. This might be your best bet if you're looking for an easy way to find targetted articles.
