long shot, quarkexpress question
this maybe a little bit of a long shot but i hope someone can help.
my question is this. im using quark express to create a catalog for my ecommerce site to give to customers and increase sales, hopefully. my question is regarding fonts and PC and MAC issues.
im creating the catalog in quarkexpress 5 on a pc and then burning the file to a cd to giving to my printer. im doing this as i dont have acrobat to create a hi res pdf with seporations. the problem is with fonts on a pc being different on some pdf proofs ive got back from the printer there is a lot of text jumping due to PC fonts and printers all use MAC.
ive been told to use true type fonts as they are both pc and mac compatable. in the fonts list on Quarks its shows a list of fonts that are installed on my pc that i can use, these have a symbol next to them. an O and TT id a though that O means the open type font and TT means tt type, how ever i only have TT fonts installed on my pc. when checking the proof from the printed and the Quark file ive made the fonts that seam to jump are the TT fonts not the O fornts, i dont get it.
then when i look further into it i see that i have front jumping on the O fonts and some not jumping on TT it seems wierd.
any one here know about this kind of problem. Printers have give a little help but they want to charge me for there time if i ask anymore, and they charge £45 a hour. so thought i would research this my self first.
