How can I skip a Paypal window help!

Hi:
I have set up Paypal Express, but I would like to keep Paypal IPN. Why? Because Paypal IPN allows my customers to pay with credit cards even if they do not have a Paypal account.

When People choose to pay through Paypal IPN after the customer confirms the billing and shipping information the first Paypal window that shows up is a completely unnecessary window

That is a double window, the window to the left gives a lot of explanation about Paypal and then indicates (with a small print) to the people who wants to use credit card (not Paypal) to continue. The other half of the screen is asking for logging in to Paypal.

I want to erase / skip that window because does not help in any way.
When people (without a Paypal account) press (in small print) press the “continue” then they can go to second Paypal window, the real useful window and put their credit card information without entering in a Paypal accountand again the window of log in for Paypal show up again for whoever wants to log in.
So that initial double window is really only in the way and can be confusing for people who does not have a Paypal account or do not want to subscribe to a Paypal account.

Could anybody tell me how can I skip that window? I know I have to go somewhere and put “false” somewhere in the programming, but I do not know where… :lookaroun
THanks,
Marlake

PS. Just in case, the page that I want to skip have the following information (below)

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

If your customer doesn't have a PayPal account already, then their computer will not have any memory of having logged in to PayPal yet. Thus, they will automatically see the screen where they can fill in all their details.

To simulate that, clear your browser's cache and cookies, and restart the browser.

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

Hi:
I have cleared my cache and cookies but I do not think that is the problem.

I think I have not explain myself well.

This is a preliminary double window before you log in into Paypal.
When you choose Paypal IPN as a payment option it gives you the chance to pay either with credit card without logging in **OR ** to log in to Paypal
But that is an unnecessary and confusing window that my customers (who are not going to log into Paypal as members) have to go through. That does not make them go into Paypal. Then, when they press continue they are directed to a second window (the useful one) that ask for their credit cards and make them get secure payment.

The only utility of the first window is for Paypal advertisement and press "continue" (for the ones who want to pay with a credit card without being Paypal members). **Is there any way how I can put "false" somewhere in the programming and skip that window?
**
I guess this is hard to explain without looking. To understand me maybe you would need to go here: https://www.mhi-rampsandlifts.com.

Thanks,
Marlake

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

PayPal controls their marketing methods. There is no published way to bypass their various screens.

That is a Paypal page you are trying to skip, and I doubt any Zen Cart setting can alter it. Paypal wants to always push customers toward paying through them with an account, since they must make more profit that way than letting the credit card be used.

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

Hi:

Sorry, I have been working on this for too many hours, trying many things without any result on this... maybe this is not a marketing page, just a way of presenting information by Paypal

I think this is called a split-login page. Is there any way to remove the split-login mode, just for Paypal IPN or if I remove it then it will be removed from Paypal express checkout too?

Something I noticed : when you are a returning customer and buy something then that unnecessary screen is not displayed anymore and the person goes directly to put their credit cards numbers and billing address without having to go through that first window.

So, maybe is a way to redirect (new customers without Paypal account) directly to the place where they can put their credit cards, as they do with returning customers.....

Sorry, something else:

Is there any way to increase the font size of these pages?. My customers tend to be old people and they cannot read small print. At least that will help....
Thanks,
Marlake

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

As DrByte says, Paypal controls their marketing methods, and every page presented to the public is marketing on some level. You certainly feel that it is unnecessary, but Paypal feels it is necessary to guide everyone to their preferred payment method.

I suspect they will only let you go directly to the credit card page if you have previously done that from the same computer.

Re: How can I skip a Paypal window help!

If you check your browser's address box, you'll see that when you're at this point, you're on PayPal's website, not yours.

There is no way to edit a PayPal page from Zencart.

These questions should be directed to PayPal support (for all the good it will do).

Another (better) option - since many of your products are fairly large-ticket, get a proper credit card merchant account and get rid of PayPal altogether. As you point out, your target customers are older people, and they are far less likely to use PP in the first place.
