paypal install problems

hi you guys

I have godaddy hosting with SSL installed.

i have set up both paypal ipn and paypal express.
In admin/modules/payment status of both is on "processing".

I can't find an add button or any button on my product pages or any check out button.

I also installed SSL.

I tried mysite/extras/curltest.php this was fine.

Then i tried mysite/extras/ipncheck.php

i get this error:

"IPNCHECK.PHP - Version 1.0

IPN TESTING - POSTING to PayPal via: ssl://www.paypal.com:443

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to ssl://www.paypal.com:443 (Connection timed out) in /home/content/?/?/?/name/html/extras/ipncheck.php on line 81
IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not establish fsockopen.
Host Details = ssl://www.paypal.com:443 (110) Connection timed out

Trying again without SSL ...

IPN TESTING - Confirmation/Validation response: RESPONSE RECEIVED - Communications OKAY

Script finished."

I need to use SSL so this one is on in my both config files.

Can someone help me out?

i appreciate it

thank you

I have read your thread before..

By the way: i have zen cart 1.3.8

Is there something else i should do?

Does it have something to do with the SSL installation?

I can't find an add button or any button on my product pages or any check out button.

Can you be more specific?
A URL would help.

Re: paypal install problems

Why are all your products set to 'call for price"?

Re: paypal install problems

Call for price?

Where did you find that?

What i did was that the shipping fee is included in the products price.

that's all.

Re: paypal install problems

all your prices say "contact us"

oh, maybe you have it set so nobody can shop without being authorized?

Re: paypal install problems

very strange.

i can't find the contact us defined anywhere. Not in ncludes/languages/english/button_names.php
or ANYWHERE.

So i thought maybe i changed something in mainpage but there is no "contact us" either.

Can somebody help me out.
It can't be this difficult to install paypal on my site right?

Re: paypal install problems

Everything works now!!!

I am happy.

I turned both free shipping to true and everything is fine.

Paypal works too.

I did a lot of research.

It wasn't easy.
It took me more than a week to get this zen cart working like i wanted it to work.

Re: paypal install problems

You'll save yourself some guesswork by picking up a copy of the eStart Your WebStore With Zen Cart book ... it explains many of the settings you've been playing with, and would help you prevent stepping on your own toes :)

Glad to see that none of this was a PayPal problem.
