Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Not an Image Handler issue.. This is default Zen Cart behavior unless you turn it off via the admin or by using CSS.. See if this post helps.. (I found by searching for "disable category image")

I've just installed IH2 v2 rev 7 but have not configured anything.
I noticed after the install that my category images now show above my individual product listings. A link for the visual is shown below.

Answered just one page back in this support thread..

That is the default behaviour of IH2, it will not hover over the main image.

As for removing the product name when images zoom, hopefully someone else can help with that.. I would suggest NOT removing it as it does help with SEO..

Very sorry if this has been posted on here before - I have been through about 15 pages and just couldn't find anything.

I have successfully installed IH2 and its working fine. One thing that I would like to do is for the images to auto zoom as they are but without the product title or description.

For some reason the image handler doesnt zoom on the actual product page. I changed the settings in admin>config>images but still never got any joy. So I have now installed zen lightbox which works a treat.

**I still wanted a sort of zoom affect **that magic zoom adds so installed magic zoom - however by over writing the file includes>templates>MYTEMPLATE>tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

I was getting an error so I have since disabled magic zoom and restored the previous IH2 file.

**The one main thing which I would like to do is to remove the description from the images when they zoom **

any help will be appreciated

Asked and answered quite a bit in this support thread.. Try doing a search in this thread for "watermarks". In short yes it is an incorrect settings issue..

I'll be removing IH2 v2 rev7 later today after several hours of reading through this forum for solutions on the watermarks and hover. I was able to get watermark & hover working for small to medium but not medium to large.

Many of my products have additional images which were fully functional prior to IH but are now not showing. I see this has been an issue that's occurring for people but don't see a solution that applies to my image structure.

I also have issues under Tools - Image Handler If I click a product and display the images appear and then just disappear, however some products show perfectly fine.

I may try a fresh install in the future/next weekend to see if it's a bad install on my part but for now....

I'll take a look but I have 1200-1300 products some with additional images and some without. I'm not sure it will be worth the hours that may be involved. I can add a watermark using other methods and my end goal was to add Fual Slimbox.

I imagine that forward and backward slashes would also possibly cause issues as well..

I am new to Image Handler... I just downloaded Version 2.0 rev 7 (Last Updated: Sep 17 2009)...

I have read through the readme.html file which appears to be revised for v2.0 r7 and it talks about being careful not to directly upload the "Optional Extras" folder. I cannot find any "Optional Extras" folder in the download. I downloaded twice just to make sure I got a good download. Is this "Optional Extras" folder and files within no longer apart of this contribution? Is the readme.html file not entirely updated for the latest version? Can I disregard any talk about "Optional Extras"?

I can't find a folder named "optional extras" either. Can someone tell me what this is referring to in the zip file? Is it all the folders with the name extra_ in them? My first time installing, I skipped those and my admin panel wouldn't load giving me two error messages that those files were missing. I plan to use Slimbox on top of IH2. So, I really need to exclude these. I'm going to uninstall IH2 now. Hoping for a response :)

As long as you have downloaded the updated version I think your good to go - There is no optional extra files in there - Im on the understanding that the optional extra files were in the previous versions which had errors and the current version has rectified the errors without the option extra files.

I installed image handler 2 a couple of weeks ago and didnt get any optional extra files - I just followed the installation guidelines and everything works file.

I would suggest you add the 2 files which you missed out and that should do the trick

Just forget the Optional Extras folder.
As has been copiously explained in this thread, the readme, the restoration.zip files, etc., that folder was inserted in the previous version and caused a support nightmare, which still continues.
You DO NOT need it.
Just install rev. 7 as is.

Why won't the hover image appear on the product page? Would it not just be about copying the same-code from the category-hover onto the product-page hover?

However, as of yet it just has not been executed successfully.. Attempts to add this feature to the module have resulted in issues with compatibility with certain lightbox modules.
