Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Image Handler 2 when adding an item in Catalog/Products image uploaded works fine and file permissions is 777 same as image/ folder.

When I use Tools/Image Handler2 it uploads images with file permissions 600 which will not work without changing permissions.

I have a 1.3.8 install of Zen - am I OK to install Imagehandler Zen Cart™ Version: v1.3.7 on my install or is there issues I should be aware of?

Something disturbing happens with Opera web browser....Instead of showing larger images when you hover your mouse over an image i am getting my zenid showing....now surely this shouldn't happen ?

Works perfectly with Firefox, Internet Explorer 7 and Safari web browsers.

at the moment its not working. I get the little + sign displayed but no image float.
it works fine in IE, netscape and firefox. so the install is fine.

Seems to me there is a large security issue going on with Opera Web browser and hopefully someone can answer this concern soon as anyone with Image Handler 2 should be concerned about this ( that means everyone reading this thread )

Tried to find some info on this in the documentation and on the forum but doesnt seem to be possible right now. What i want is more image sizes then just the default, medium and large. Any zennies who have experience with that?
I want it cause i would like to use different sizes for the extra pics in the product info display, different size for x-sell, differente size for product listing, etc.

edit: This is perfect, just found out i can replace the SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT things by number of pixels and it resizes them on the fly. great :)

The subcategory columns are underneath the image. This can be seen at http://testcart.racesteering.com and if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Likewise, when attempting to view the product's images in the IH2 admin, nothing is displayed. I suspect it has something to do with EXIF data in the images, but surely someone else has had this problem and may know what is happening. I can provide an image that causes problems if anyone is willing to try it out. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone has.

There is nothing more than normal Zen Cart behaviour. When you go to any Zen Cart site for the first in a session, the zen_id is appended to all links. Once you go to the second page, this is read and transferred to a session variable and doesn't need to be appended any more.

The reason that it has started to be noticed in Opera is because Opera has stopped displaying the hover images and is instead displaying a tool tip with the images title and link instead.

This is probably another contributor to Opera's market share having dropped from a high of 1.9% last July to 1.4% over the past three months.

By "flake out" what do you mean. Does it stop displaying everything after those images?

Precisely. I guess "flake out" isn't very descriptive (it was a bit noisy around here when I posted and I couldn't think of a better way to put it at the time). Yes, what is happening is that nothing after where the image should be is displayed. Furthermore, in the pages that should be displaying a product listing, no products at all are listed. I have had this happen on three different sites, all hosted on different server configurations.

I am having issues where the enlarged image is still the same size as the "small" image. I was told by some other zenners to install image handler so that it could take care of the image sizes on its own. I have installed that program, and I am getting a "Done. But with errors on the page" as well as NO change in the image popups no matter what I do? I have tried reinstalling everything, but still no luck. Can anyone please offer some suggestions?

I am pretty sure you are having a problem with PNG image compression somewhere.

In your admin, under the Configuration drop down menu, click on "images" - what value(s) do you have set for IH small, medium, and large image compression quality? Does anything different happen when you play with the compression value for these? Try setting it to a low value too and see if changing it to a value between "1" and "10" (not "100") helps.

What happens if you remove your PNG images or change them to JPGs or GIFs?

What version of PHP are you running? (Check this by clicking on "version" in the top right of the Admin)

when i had 1.3.7 when i clicked on the image to enlarge it, the background become black and i can click on the image and it will go to next image.

but now, i lost that effect...

this was a clean install of image handler2 and not copies from the older one.

did anyone see this problem before? any advise?

Need to install the mod that does that.
The effect you want is not a IH function.
LightBox or HoverBox are 2 mods to like at.

Okay i just installed IH2 and im having issues w/ my admin.

i cant get in now... i get this:

no changes have been made to those files.

This is a fresh install of 1.3.8 w/ only google check out and colum layout grid installed.

I have hoverbox and imagehandler 2 installed and both working perfectly!

Just two questions:

1. in the imagehandler menu is specifying a unique directory a requirement? (Mine ONLY works with additional images if I specify a directory, whcih isn't a problem)

2. should the images be enlarging when just hovering over a product rather than clicking? Mine aren't but i do seem to get an error which I think is java script related
