Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Hi all,

Anyone know what the maximum number of images in one product can be? Just hit 36 images and it seems to have crashed my IH2 for that product only.
Images are 44Kb each. Size reduction?

Cancel that. Just looked at the last image I uploaded and it was 300 K, forgot to resize.

Image Handler is supposed to resize the images and upload them into the image/ image/LARGE and image/MEDIUM folder which it does not do.

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

File sizes are 455KB to 176KB.

I can see your additional images just fine.
The hover works fine on them.
There is a problem with the large pop-up.
Did you up load this size of image for auto_01, auto_02 (width="1024" height="768)? What is the MB image size?
Is this the size you want to display cause your main product large image is only 733x550.

I've problems with watermarks, i tryed reinstalling IH2 (deleting files and copy them again..) i checked 20 times bmz_cache folder permissions (777) and images folder permissions but... nothing, watermarks still not working

I saw that some folders are created on bmz_cache folder but not files...¿?¿?¿?

¿could please anyone help me?

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

File sizes are 455KB to 176KB.

Are you thinking that IH processed images as you uploaded to your website?

IH does "Not" resize and upload images to the MEDIUM and LARGE folders.
What IH does from the "1" product image you upload to the "image" folder is to create the small, medium and large image on the fly when needed, that is when someone visits your website. Does the something for additional images.
All images processed by IH go to the bmz_cache folder.

By putting images in the MEDIUM/LARGE folders you are turning off IH for those images which then defaults to Zen-Cart image handling.

I pre-process my large images to upload to be no bigger then 160 kb.

I'm using Version: 2.0 v0916 on 1.3.7

Also you need to rethink how you are going to name your images if you plan to use additional images.

Just as tophand mentioned, it seems to be an OPERATOR ERROR, we have a fix for the js error and we HAVE sites that work, so it MUST be OE :lookaroun

Even if you had an older Image Handler version working this one probably won't.

Support here shows no FIX and my suggestion is do not download and waste your time. Read the forum and there is not FIX for IH2 and any Zen Cart version.

Thanks tophand but it's still not working

I have deleted the \image<images> and the \image\medium<images> and moved and renamed the large ones to the \images folder

all watermark options are enabled but.. it's still not working :(

The images on the page in your link are working for me. They take a second to load but they do.

What file type is your watermark?
You do need to have the watermark file in the image/medium and image/large folders.

Well inWcironsales case I don't believe it was an operator error but more of not understanding how IH works and was expecting IH to work in a different way.
My user error comment was a blanket comment to Wcironsales post that IH is broken don't use comment.

Well, you didn't double check to see if you uploaded all the IH files.
You are missing one.

 includes/templates/comstock/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js

Take care of this then see were how things work.

Here is some things I noticed during winmerge processing. I am not sure there importance and I have tried using both options with no avail.

The apostrophe on the number 1 in IH2 compared to **1.3.8a **which has no apostrophe

These 3 files in Image Handler 2 at end of the below 3 files the ?> has been removed. I have not noticed a difference with them or without them

There are only 6 IH2 mod files that are different between IH2 and Zen Cart **1.3.8a **these files are:

One more note for the record. This IH2 version creates LARGE & MEDIUM images on the fly on page request. It does not create _LRG and _MED images and place into the /LARGE/ and /MEDIUM/ folders as a previous version did. I was not expecting this on this version and overlooked at first.

Trouble shooting tips:
Have you cleared all the sub-folders (delete) from the bmz_cache folder? You can do this from IH admin or use your host control panel or FTP.
Instead having an image 1024x768, try a smaller image. This might be more of GD libraries or ImageMagick problem. Be sure to clear bmz_cache sub-folders first.
How are you uploading the images?

still not working

doubble check and my image/medium and image/large folders have the watermarks includedd in the IH2 download

no pictures are created at bmz_cache folder, only folders were created i i delete thouse folders they are created again but only folders, no pictures

• YES, The problem is the pop-up for the large additional images, correct?

• I have this post complete and just figured out that the image permissions are not correct. I am posting this message and will look to see what went wrong with the image permissions. Images are being uploaded with 600 permission, I wonder why?.

• bmz_cache folder cleared using both methods frequently.

• Home page and item page reloaded frequently.

• I resized all 3 images to 733x549

• I use Zen Cart>Administration - Menu option Tools>Image Handler2 option to upload 3 images to the one ABC item currently online.

• Image Handler is uploading all 3 images fine I see them after uploading and If I use IH2 to delete them it also works fine.

• The images that I am using that IH2 uploaded are below: (had to change premissions from 600 to 644 until I figure out why its not automatic)

Everything seems to work but enlarging the additional photos does not work.

And others if I did not list them above. My records show that the above are the only ones overwritten by IH2 with Zen Cart 1.3.8a and 1.3.7.1

My in production store has no mods, this is the first and only one and should work pretty easy I thought!

Before I upload an image the file permission is 644. My image/ folder permission and the bmz_cache/ folders are 755.

IH2 or GD Libraries changes the image permissions to 600 during upload on the webserver. (Vendio web hosting)

The main image even though permission is 600 will display properly including large.

Additional images do not load after IH2 uploades them with 600 permissions. Size is not the factor rather the permission 600 is the factor I beleive, or the mod files.

If I upload using FTP my images arrive on server as 644 which are viewable and IH2 appears to fully work.

All three items on this web site http://wcironsales.com/store have different examples included in the description.

What may be causing IH2 image uploads to 600 permission status?
