So I guess I'm SOL on getting this to work?

Guess I'll have to hire a coder to see what's going on...Was hoping it would work out of the box but guess it can't...

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Sorry to go off there guys, was getting late and I was hoping for the miracle in the bottle.

So today my friend who's a wicked zen cart coder said your template is $%&#. I bought the one from zenflavor. He said the coding would need to be changed so much it would take hours. So I'm ok I guess...

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

This isn't a support request, just something i have noticed on a site where IH2 is installed...

I don't know if it is a situation that indicates a problem or not...

On one site i have i use the define-pages-editor and ez pages a lot, with lots of images too... as it is more than just a e-commerce site.

I had noticed that my images on these pages were disappearing, i didn't know where to until yesterday and i realised that these images were (some how) being added to products as additional images by IH2.

After correcting this oddness via the IH2 admin area i created a new folder on my server called images-cms, added all the images i use on my define and EZ pages.. changed the paths etc and everything is back to normal...

If anyone knows why... or how... please tell me...
Otherwise.. all is cool (but it has only been 1 day.. lol)

Probably not an IH2 issue as IH2 doesn't alter the code that drives how additional images are "found" by Zen Cart.. The way Zen Cart "identifies" additional images has EVERYTHING to do with where the images are located + the base image name. If you look at the image names that were the issue and compare those to images on the products they showed up as additional images for this might make sense..

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

In a nutshell?? Yep...

IH2 is simply an image management/optimizing tool.. It does NOT affect any of the default Zen Cart image features at all.. Suggest reading through the FAQs on additional images to get a full explanation. Start with this article: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=315

On reason I like IH2 is because trying to explain how additional images work in Zen Cart to clients always guarantees to confuse.. So IH2 makes it easy for them as it handles naming all the additional product images..

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

I am not sure what happened but it is evident I did something in error somewhere. I have tried to resolve this myself but to no avail.

I need to rid the space under the image on the product page. I also would like to have a zoom button instead of large image wording.

Also when I click or mouse over the image it doesn't do anything. No large image.

Help appreciated.

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

i have done a good hours reading on this and thought it best to ask the question here as i am still undecided after reading pro's and con's for both.. and would like some professional opinions

Which works best with iH2,
Fual Slimbox or Zen Lightbox

MThey both work.. When ckosloff and I tested the current version of IH2, he tested Zen Lightbox, I tested Fual Slimbox with IH2.. I personally chose Fual Slimbox because of this:
At only 30kb Slimbox is a much smaller download than than Lightbox which weights in at over 100Kb. Since JS tends not to be cached so well by browsers this offers genuine speed increases to users. In addition it is powered by Mootools effects, making it much more customisable than Lightbox.Never have had any issue with Fual Slimbox.. So that's my recommendation.. In the IH2 readme, you notice we took no position on which lightbox module to use either since we found both tools worked with IH2. and based on the respective authors of these lightbox modules, it appears that both were written specifically to work WITH IH2..

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Hi Diva..

I played with both, set up two fresh test sites both identical and the only mod installed being IH2.

both dead easy to install, both easily managed via the admin and by css.

However i noticed that on the site with Fual Slimbox, when i scrolled the background flickered and i could scroll down forever. So i went with zen lightbox. Up on saying that, Fual Slimbox is by far much faster to load images.

both are excellent mods! guess it is just a case of 'suck it and see' for which one to go for...

This is not an Image Handler support issue, and the answer is very much off topic for this support thread.. Please create a separate post on the forum to get assistance with this as it is more of a stylesheet/layout issue.

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Problem with automatic renaming of additional images in IH 2 v 2.0.7 (and Lightbox 1.5) on ZC1.3.8a

When IH2 renames my additional images, it renames the first one with suffix _01, the next one with _02, and then the third as _01 again. Both _01s show in the admin, but not on the store front.

I tried renaming various related or unrelated names, and the renaming still does the same problem.

Older products, pre my IH2 installation with three additional images _01, _02, 03 uploaded by ftp into images, MED and LRG still work, and even show up in the IH2 admin tool.

I haven't been doing a lot of additional images because it took so long, but now with IH installed, I'd like to do more of them.

Any ideas?

store is meafordwool dot com

are you sure that when you add the new image after 02 that you are hitting the new image button and not the edit button of the 01 image?

have you tried deleting the main image then redoing the following images?

Thanks for answering. I tried those with no success. I also tried naming my own suffix for the third photo, and that got it onto the admin set as a unique named additional photo. But it still didn't show up in the store.

Then I noticed that my third photo was showing as a .jpg while the others were showing as .JPG Windows@#$#*$7 doesn't seem to want me to have any say over that matter and I can't rename the extension from lower case to upper case the way I could in XP.

My camera came with Picture Project, which is limited and now dated since I changed computers to Win7 64 bit. PP saves jpegs as .JPG and that's what my main photo and 2 additions photos were don on.

My third additional photo was saved from an edit in Photo Studio 6, which saves jpegs as .jpg

So I had to import the photo from PS6 folder into PP, and then save it, which turned it into a .JPG and now all is well on the farm.

So..... .jpg and .JPG are not the same thing. Who knew!
