Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Hi Dark angel your a star - It worked by entering the code directly though phpMyadmin - after using the uninstall through the admin panel first of course.

Its all working now so its great however one thing that i didnt understand was

Copy and paste this into a document called install.php

So i copied your coding and pasted it into a notepad files then saved it as install.php however i just pasted the same text back into phpmyadmin and all went sweet. Not to sure what to do with the install.php file now or why I needed to create one in the first place.

One last thing - just wondering if there is a way to remove the product title from the lightbox affect?

Also many of the images are different sizes - is this because a actual large size image doesn't exist or is something going wrong. Im using image handler 2 with it. Im having the same issue with image handler 2 - the description of the image shows up in the auto zoom affect.

That was is for some reason the browser quit or net went down you would have it handy and not have to come looking for it again.

I don't use nor ever have used image handler but by different sizes do you mean the little thumbnail vs the other ones in the product description?

or when you click the small one to get the larger one?

if you click on the fantasies realm link you will see mine are differnt sizes to begin with anyway. the sizes for your store are determined in your settings in the configuration>images>or MAX settings...one of those.

I have mine set to the width so all images will be the same width and various heights. I did this becasue some of my pro images were not too tall and when constrained with both a width and height restriction they got distorted.

I try to have all my vendors make their promo images to set sizes no more than 1200x1200 for the product page and 900x900 for the thumbs ( bigger and the lightbox won't let you scroll to see the rest of it).

no fix cause we have not gotten a link of the store to see if it is just theirs or others too.

a link to naughty sites is really helpful to get even better help sometimes

After installing tabbed products pro with lightbox my images are repeating. When you click the main image while on the product page it shows that it has 4 images to click through. When you click through it shows the same image 4 times.

not sure if this will work but go to admin > lightbox and set "Include main image in gallery" to false

test it and see if that helps

Thanks for the support - I think its actually my images that are the issue - I mean I have uploaded images of all different sizes so the images show up with different dimensions for every image.

You can take a look at ravsappliances.com and have a look at the product pages where I have installed zen lightbox.

One thing that I am having an issue with is trying to remove the image description from the lightbox affect -

Do you know of any programme or plugin that I can use which will automatically sort out the image sizes for me? If not I think I will need to remove the images and make sure I upload files of a large dimension to keep a consistency look.

Not too sure if you could give me some advise.

If you have time take a look at this site electronicworldtv. co.uk I really like the way that they have the sideboxes with rounded edges and they have like a 2 color for the background for the sidebox headers. Its split horizontally with a lighter shade towards the top. Just wondering if i can work the css to give rounded side box headers in a similar way.

Before I make any changes to ravsappliances.com I test them out on buycheaplcdtvs.co.uk which is also another site of mine.

I have added the image handler 2 plugin but for some reason it also brings up descriptions with the images - im currently testing the pro tabbed on the site which you can see working under the digital camcorder section. However the image handler 2 is for some reason also pulling up duplicate images or maybe its zenlightbox as someone has mentioned it above - I will try the work around which you mentioned and see if go's well

I wasnt getting duplicate images on my site that did not have image handler 2 installed but only on the one that had image handler 2 - so maybe that is the reason why.

sorry been ill last few days the site is at https://www.elitewholesalesigns.co.uk. ( and no its not a naughty site thank you ! just have been ill) Have reinstalled the lightbox but the larger image is still opening in a new window, if you have any ideas on how to get around this would appreciate it. Am using just a basic template which is exactly the same as the one I have a lightbox working perfectly on.

I fixed the 'close' button not showing in firefox by adding ' at the beginning and end of the line like this:

('<?php echo $template->get_template_dir('', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base, 'buttons/') . $_SESSION['language'] . '/zen_lightbox/closelabel.gif'; ?>')

The same principal can be applied to the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons if they are needed.

Fotox - looked at your site in IE and the close button is not showing there either so I am not sure the fix I used will work for you as I had the close button showing in IE just not Firefox but i suppose it is worth a try

I'm still missing something as my Lightbox shows up under ZC Admin but the Lightbox is being ignored completely. Larger images appear right in the same
window where the store sits.

Where have I gone wrong? I'm running ZC with a modded template, could that be it?

in the admin>configuration>max settings and image settings...have you set a unified image size in there? I noticed that some of your images are 400x400 or 200x200 then are resized down for the thumbnail you click on...so try making all the image sizes the same in admin. my store has different sizes becasue of our textures and items so I have only one size define in admin either the width or height.

You don't need to remove them, just make the new ones...name them exactly the same then upload them to the same folder you originally have them in for the store and they will overwrite the ones there.

He looks like he is using a custom template but the headers for the sideboxes are created that way, most likely in photoshop then in the css file are assigned where to appear.

make sure you have uploaded the image files to the right folder it looks like they might not be uploaded.

Hope you get to feeling better, finally got some warm days here and NOW i caught the flu...lol

I took a look and there is no lightbox showing that is for sure. When I view source for the page I do not see it listed near the top of the coding either. Are you sure it is completely installed?

your images are the same size not larger at all so the lightbox would only be showing the exact same size as what is shown.

I do see it listed in the source code but am wondering about your template you are using.

which one is it? its name and are you too sure the files are in the correct places

If any of you want to contact me feel free I can go into the admin and see what is going on and try to help as much as possible. I have helped many install it or beat it up...lol

All sorted now, sorry but I had uninstalled again last night and meant to leave a note letting you know, no idea what I did to correct it apart from uninstall and reinstall loads of times have one more site to install this mod on so will let you know if it works first time or not otherwise will have to go through it all again not really knowing how I managed to get it to work. Ain't servers grand??? I know what you mean cause I ran another sie that had severalforums. The weird thing was that what I installed on one forum flawlessly (all were set up exactly the same), would either not install or not work right in the other one.

keep us posted, sometimes that is what it takes, uninstalling and then reinstalling it several times...clearing cache, history and cookie in between times too

I have Image Handler 2 installed and it does appear to work. The larger image appears larger now, but Lightbox still not functioning at all. The large image appears in the same window.

What I find confusing about Lightbox is that v1.5 has an install script that seems to automate everything yet v2.0 does not. You simply copy a bunch of files to your template and it's supposed to work. V1.5 also shows up in the ZC Admin page but my v2.0 does not. Is this normal?

As to my template, I grabbed it off of rubikintegration.com. It's called RI_TEMPLATE_07. I liked the look of it so I used it.

ps - Lightbox does not work even when switching over to the default ZC "green" template.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!! :-)

Hi Everyone

I managed to get my lightbox installed and working - except for the additional images bit ... so I went over the additional images tutorial again and made sure that I had everything in the right place in terms of images ... but it still doesn't work.

I then looked at the folder which I had placed my additional_images.php file - again it seems to be right .... but it still is not showing additional images.

I know it will be something simple but can't figure it out so far ...

I'm desperatly wanting to install this mod to my site, but I'm just worried about running into problems. I can see that people are getting errors when they run the SQL script (with cut and paste) because they need to add something somewhere. So my question is what needs to be put into the SQL script, and where?

Sorted that problem - I knew it would be something simple ...

I had named my original product image kendal_lrg.jpg and my additional images kendal_01_lrg.jpg ....

Of course, the main image should have been kendal.jpg and the additional images kendal_01.jpg etc ... It was looking for additional images for kendal_lrg and additional images for that file name didn't exist.

It doesn't take much to stump me ...
