Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

mpforum:

I'm desperatly wanting to install this mod to my site, but I'm just worried about running into problems. I can see that people are getting errors when they run the SQL script (with cut and paste) because they need to add something somewhere. So my question is what needs to be put into the SQL script, and where?

The prefix for my tables is 'zen_'

Backup your Zen Cart database before running this SQL patch.

Your database prefix should only have to be added to SQL statements when installing contribution SQL patches from phpMyAdmin. This isn't the preferred method.

It's recommended to run the SQL from the Zen Cart admin "Install SQL patches" as you do not need to use your database prefix (Zen Cart already knows about it - if your configure.php files are setup correctly).

Open the install.sql file in a plain text editor, highlight and copy all the text inside the file. Go into your Zen Cart admin > Tools > Install SQL Patches and paste what you copied into the query box and click Send.

NOTE: I believe many problems encountered are due to attempting to upload the actual install.sql file instead of copying and pasting the text inside.

I have installed this mod on over a dozen sites without a hitch. Backup your database, Backup your database, Backup your database (did I say backup your database) and let it fly.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Sometimes that is the problem, people use the "find" feature to upload the file...I did not when I encountered that problem as others did.

We copy/pasted the information for the user is right...the software should already know the prefix, but sometimes it goe amnesia prone and does not work so

then we are forced to add the prefix and upload throught myphpadmin --- also by copy/paste.

Try it through admin of your store then if it does not work copy/paste the code from a few posts before yours. I think the one I posted was for zen_ prefix...if not then give a yell

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Hi, if someone has a minute could they take a look at my site in either IE7, or IE8's Compatibility View feature...

My product info page is at first displayed fine in IE7 but once the lightbox is activated my main page's image borders get resized and pushed away, and the product info table gets moved closer to the main image.

Afterwards if you select an attribute they get placed back to normal, but youll see the info table is affected as well.

I have set up a seperate stylesheet for IE7 to fix problems else where, I just cant figure out what is going on with the lightbox.

Here a product link:
http://thegearvault.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=207

Everything works fine in IE8... I don't get it.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

The issue is with IE7.
If you switch to compatibility view, youll see what I mean. The product info page goes crazy when the lightbox is activated. This only happens in IE7 and probably lower and I'm going crazy trying to figure out why.

And thank you; All the categories link to the right place, it's just that not every category has products yet.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Clicking compatibility view (this icon next to the address bar) in IE8, forces IE8 to render as IE7

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Crunch:

Is Zen Lightbox v1.6 still planned to be released? I am unable to get the Cherry Zen template to work properly with Zen Lightbox without causing a duplicate gallery image side effect. v1.6 referenced it would have support for Cherry Zen template.

Thanks.

Alex Clarke:

v1.6 includes many updates and fixes.

Slimbox is now used and the output code has been reduced by over 50%. I pretty much re-wrote Zen Lightbox v1.4 from the ground up as v1.4 was very old and messy in places!
v1.6 will include many new features and a few fixes, but I recommend upgrading now.

Upgrading from v1.4 to v1.5 pretty much requires you to uninstall the old version and then install the new version (i.e. delete a load of files and upload the new ones). However, the v1.6 upgrade should simply involve uploading new files (i.e. there's no need to manually delete the old v1.5 files).

As VisExp pointed out, more admin options are available and the lightbox effect can now be used on any page of your website!

Yes, I am bumping a unanswered question I posted weeks ago. Is this difficult to answer? Is Zen Lightbox v1.6 still planned to be released or shall I add this to my list of dead and no longer developed mods / author is gone now list?

Thanks!

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Ok, I found the SQL a few posts back and did the cut and paste. I het the send button and I got this...

Error ERROR: Cannot execute because table zen_configuration_group does not exist. CHECK PREFIXES!
Error ERROR: Cannot execute because table zen_configuration_group does not exist. CHECK PREFIXES!
Error ERROR: Cannot execute because table zen_configuration does not exist. CHECK PREFIXES!

I've had a look at the table prefix and attached a screen shot.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

I've cut and paste the uninstall SQL to remove what I've done. Is there anything else I need to do to 'clean up'?

you did good doing the uninstall---did you also do the prefix in it too?

did you do the copy/paste of the entire sql into admin section or myphpadmin sql tab?

and to the question about the update...I too would like to see it updated. It is a great addon for the store and although some people can get it to be used for the additional images and other pages aside the obvious one -- mine never has...but it works on the main pages and that makes me happy.

I do not know what happened but the creator has not responded to this thread in a very long time so maybe he quit working on it.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

I did the cut and paste into the admin section.

As you could see by my attachment, I have the right prefix and the required table exists, so I have no idea what is happening.

yes I know, it is supposed to work with or without the prefix in admin section however...

it did not when I did it either. Like me and a few others we ahd to copy/paste the info into the SQL tab of myphpadmin.

try it there and see if it works that way.

In your original post you said you copied some sql from the forum. I assume this was probably where it had the zen_ prefixed to the statements.

Just curious... Did you happen to try and copy and paste the original contents of the install.sql file into your Zen Cart admin "Install SQL patches" ? You do not need to use your database prefix if you use the Zen Cart admin to run SQL.

Backup your database and give that a try (if you haven't already).

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

I tried using the original SQL code to no avail hence the reason that I copied it from the site.

I just ran it from phpMyAdmin and success.

For the life of me I can't understand why it was happening, but all is now good.

Thanks for your help DarkAngel.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Hi everyone,

I'm using ZC 3.81a. Today I downloaded and installed Zen Lightbox v.1.5 from the ZC plug in site.

After renaming the override folders and uploading the includes file to my server, I copied/pasted the entire contents of the install file into the install sql patches section of the admin and clicked the send button.

I received this error:

1146 Table 'es_zc1.configuration_group' doesn't exist
in:
[SELECT @cgi := configuration_group_id FROM configuration_group WHERE configuration_group_title = 'Zen Lightbox';]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

I then copy/pasted the contents of the uninstall file and hit send. Next, I repeated the installation but got the same results.

Can someone please assist? Thanks in advance :)

same thing many of us have gone through..so

go to myphpadmin and look at the tables to see what the prefix is then add that to the SQL installer --- if the prefix just before the table is like zen_then the table name

zen_ is the prefix

several posts up you will see where to add it then try installing the SQL through myphpadmin's SQL tab.

that is what I did to get mine installed as many others have had to do too becasue our admin section did not let us do it there.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Thanks for clarifying that it's the same issue DarkAngel - I wasn't sure from reading the previous posts if it was the same issue or not and I didn't want to mess around in my database until I was sure.

I follow the fix you posted and it works like a dream!

Thanks much!

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

glad to hear it...and glad it worked, there are occasions where it gives a problem still but not many times.

not sure why our admin secctions won't let us do this addon when it does other ones.
