Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

HI, We installed Image Handler a few weeks ago to our site and since then our traffic from google, particularly google images has dropped by 2/3rds.....my programmer thinks it's because the images are renamed into unrecognisable names through IH2....any other ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? If so what did you do? Thanks

That would be a good thing, as Google image searches are most likely the result of someone trying to copy and paste your image for their own use.

Image Handler 2 seems to not be not working after adding the most recent security patch for the admin area.

When I try to upload, and hit "save", I just get bounced back to the top of the admin section.

On 1.3.8a

Image Handler 2 is going to save me loads of time. I'm really pleased with it and I'll gladly donate when it's working fine. My only problem is that large images are shown in the product info page instead of the medium images. This only occurs when they've been uploaded with Image Handler. I can't see a setting for this. How do I ensure my products info pages show medium images

Goshawk I would normally agree, but a huge drop in sales as well, doesn't make sense. Nothing else changed on our site.

Hi,

I see that many people have the same problem to what I am experiencing, but it does not seem to be explained in this forum. In the past I just have ignored this error and turned the hover feature off. But the mouse over effect is the best feature of IH2.

If you make any changes to the IH2 from configuration/images it will stop the hover display on small images.

When I then look at my site, trail my mouse over an image, I get the following error message for each picture I trail my mouse over: ```
showtrail is not defined
onmouseover(mouseover clientX=543, clientY=525)index.ph...HqA%3D%3D (line 2)
[Break on this error] showtrail("bmz_cache/f/f6ce20017...3, 175, 247, 350, this, 0, 0, 123, 175);

This just happened to me too!

I was experimenting with different size images and the mouseover does not work anymore. 

Does anyone know a fix for this?

I tried re-installing IH2 and for some strange reason the mouse over does not work on the product display new products or listing of products.

It works on the sideboxes. All I did was change the size the image in admin.

Yes, Farrah, it does work.
Also, you don't need to hard code both settings, one is enough, e.g. for all those settings I only use width 80 and height blank.
Let IH2 do the resizing.

Hi all.. I'm going crazy. I installed IH2 this morning, and am having a problem... I cant get any additional images to load. When I view my product pages - the additional images are not there. I can see them in the admin panel no problem. Even if I remove IH2, the images still do not appear. I have verified that they are in the correct directory, and are named appropriately. I've made sure that the number of additional images to show is set correctly in the admin panel, as well as verifying that the product type is set to display the images correctly as well.

Any ideas where to look? Running the most recent version of ZC.

So i'm installing a new site and load Image Handler 2.

Why aren't the files to allow medium images to zoom included with the download.

This means i have to search the thread to locate the link to download the additional file/files to allow medium images to zoom.

( Just like i had to do last time )

I did ask months back why they were not included in the downloads area and it seems they have still not been updated.

The reason why you guys are not getting answers is that answers are already posted all over the place.
Of course all needed files are in the download, it is up to you to check that you upload in correct locations and avoid javascript errors with the instructions I have already published.
Additional images have to be re-uploaded with IH.
The solution to hover is posted just a few posts backwards.

And that is one of the biggest problems too...they ARE all OVER the place scattered from H&LL to back instead of in one massive FAQ.

People give up trying to dig out the answers thru a thread over 400 pages and almost 1 million posts long. Liz

Large image is what you get when you hover the mouse over the medium image.

Therefore you cannot get any larger and thats it.

Someone needs to make sure the Image Handler patch which allows the medium images to zoom to large is in the Image Handler downloads section.

It isn't at present as i had to go to a disc backup i had made to install it to get the medium images to zoom. ( for another site )

Any of you having problems displaying the pop-up images!

This is related to zencart not reading the jscript_imagehover.js file in IH2 contribution, located at /templates/template_default/jscript.

The easy fix: copy the file to /templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript.

If you read post 3852 in this forum, it will explain a little more and it suggests editing the excisting jscript files present in your jscript folder. This would also work, but as you install more mod's in your zencart, it would be easily overlooked if the contribution also has a jscript included.

Follow my easy fix, and all be well.

LizWell this is the best it will be on an open source project manned by the community and volunteers. Unless someone within the community volunteers to create, post and maintain an FAQ, this is how it gets done around here.:blink:

While there is plenty of support here, it is manned by people who do not get paid for it. So as people's priorities and lives change, so does support for various modules and such.

It may not be as instantaneous as getting a ready answer, but the thread search feature works great, and so does the general forum search function.. You just have to be willing to roll up your sleeves a little to get answers..
