Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

The purchase worked out fine. I hope you are not too upset. This is the US version. I should be able to whip up a UK version for you after I get this one finished in little time. It all depends on what the UK standards are and how eBay wants the information formatted.

Oh and your ended auction finally showed up in ALP. Sometimes the sandbox is a little slow. I have heard that there can be delays up to one hour because it is being heavily used.

I did however see that the 30 minute timer had been activated a couple of times so I disabled it from ALP. Getting current auctions is now instantaneous. The released version must have a 30 minute timer for heavy API calls in order for the software to be certified.

I apologize for any confusion.

C'Mon people,

Jump on it! The sooner we help David with testing and the more feedback we can give him on what he's accomplished thus far, the sooner we get a completed, working module! Also keep in mind ... David's been doing this on his own time. Be sure to send him some $$$ to help keep the electricity on while he's writing the code you're so desperately wanting...

Yep! Don't know who else has donated, but I have. Just a small amount, but I'll donate more later.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

The testing scripts are located in a private forum. If you would like access, then please sign up for an account on my website to be able to access them.

Make sure you send me a private message indicating that would like to test and I will make you a member of the forum.

All the best,
David

Hey David! No matter what I do I get the error message that my username/password is incorrect. When I try to get it emailed to me I get the error to contact the admin the site can't email or something odd.

But I haven't been able to get in for weeks now. I was going to just make another account but you added that one to the beta testing group I believe, which is what I wanted to be doing, but my login has only worked once. Got any ideas??:cry:

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Not sure exactly what the problem was/is. I sent you a private message to email me so we can get you squared away.

I have one site online at the moment and I am waiting to hear back from eBay on certification status. So everyone that uses the software will get unlimited calls.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Auction Lister Pro is probably the first official open sourced eBay compatible application on the market.

eBay compatible you say? That's right! We got certified tonight at 756pm CDT.

Sources will be available for download shortly for all of you fine folks so you can start making more money with eBay.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Hi!

I would love to try this! Do I need to sign up as a beta tester or are the files available to download now?

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Hey guys,

I am working on an installation instructions file since I haven't gotten a chance to get the installer done. You will have to manually edit a couple files by hand. Sorry. It's really not that bad. All you need to do is specify your shopping cart URL, catalog directory and database settings. I have a full write up I am working on that will be available tonight or sometime around 3am on the downloads section.

I think operation is straight forward for the most part for those who had a chance to preview ALP in action. If not I will write up a small page on how to create and close auctions.

I am going to continue to leave the test site operational for anyone else who wants to see it in action. It is currently set back to sandbox so you all can play and not run up my bank card.

Test Site
http://osctest.auctionlisterpro.com

I just wanted to let you know that this is eBay Compatible for ALL osCommerce based shopping carts. It is built on the core of osCommerce but hooks into your existing database to allow you to create and close your auctions.

So for right now I doubt many of you will exceed the 5k daily limit call but if you happen to do that then simply send me an email and I will get your limits raised to 1.5 million calls per day. (If you change anything in the core or the functionality you will need to send me your changes so I can send them over to eBay for review. Major changes will remove the compatibility check and we will have to recertify)

Naturally there will still be things you have to do on eBay such as send feedback etc etc. Hopefully in future versions we can get this done and make it automatic.

I also have an automatic winner notification feature I am working on so you don't have to check eBay every half hour. It will basically look in your database to see if you have any running auctions and if so it will pull the information from eBay every ten minutes until auction end in the last hour. When you get a winner it will automatically notify them and send them the email for you.

There are still some rough edges here and there but the software works and you are completely free to download it and use it.

It is still undergoing development so it is not a full release. I would like to see a lot of things done before version 1.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Wow, I just found this thread, but it seems this project is really far along. Very exciting. I took a look at the demo and it looks very easy to use. The only thing that worries me is the dropdown to select products. While this might work for some people, if you have 2000+ items with not-so-unique titles it can be very time consuming to find the right product.

I know this might be specific for my store, but I would love the option to type a model # into a text field instead of having to find the item in the dropdown.

A small request, but something to consider.

Thanks

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Yeah we can do that. There is also a bug in the drop down but it only affects people with really huge product inventories. Browsers can only handle so many lines of text before they start getting sluggish and ultimately crash.

Marko is working on a category tool that will address this issue.

A temporary solution to this matter may be to put in a category drop down which when selected, will fetch only the products in that category.

To be honest I kind of figured that people who are selling that kind of quantity are probably already over on AuctionBlox anyway.

This solution is more along the lines of the people who have a couple hundred items and looking to put a few of them on eBay.

Eventually I would like to see it as a total eBay management solution.

As an aside I am working with eBay to see what we can do about getting the checkout redirect implemented for everyone so we don't have to worry about emailing them to close the deals.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I have someone reworking the Zen cart front end. As soon as I get the files back you can download it from my site and start testing with it.
