List your Zen inventory on eBay

I just checked out the test site and it looks great. As an eBay Powerseller since 2001 and a beginner of Zen Cart, I love to see this project go live. I am currently using Blackthorne (blackthornesw dot com) to list. It is probably the most advanced eBay listing program. Here're my suggestions for this project:

  1. Custom template: Blackthorne called it "Ad Template". Users can add header, footer and small pre-set pieces of text called "Global Auto Text" to the template.

  2. Item weight field. This information can be drawn from the Zen item.

I can't think of anything else now, but I'll continue to watch this topic.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I have been working on that. The next release will feature a global configuration page option which will allow you to specify custom content types for use in your designs.

The following is a minimal list of items I am adding into it:

Shipping Info
Payment Info
Return/RMA Info
Contact Info

Product Descriptions and all other fields are currently enabled so if you would like to use the built in XML template file support you can re-write those as well using the variable list above.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Here's my two cents,

I have hundreds of items in my Zen Cart, but not all of them will be listed on eBay. Of the ones to be listed on eBay, some of them will be listed daily, some three times per week, others once every ten days. I want to put these items into three separate lists, namely "Daily", "3/Week" and "1/10days". When I need to list, I only need to select the list and hit "Create eBay Auction Now", instead of select one by one from the "Product" list.

Think of an email address book, you would want to group the addresses of the people with the same interest into a list. When you need to send a message to that group you just pick the list and send it once.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

That is called Bulk Lister with Named Lists and it is coming as soon as I get the Zen cart front end done.

I've had two developers offer to help but once they got the files I never really heard from them again.

Any Zen developers care to help so we can get this rolling? There are only a couple of files remaining to be done.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

Wow!, just had this idea and am very pleased to see you guys/gals are on the case.

I wouldn't describe myself as a excellent programmer, however I have recently released 2 OS plugins. (You can find them at http://madteckhead.com). I would love to install Action Lister and hopefully contribute something in the future. Is this possible? As I read something about an ebay token, is this hard to get.

I created an account at https://www.auctionlisterpro.com however the ZenCart-1.3.FE-0.5.zip file didn't seem to be available. Any suggestions?

Look forward to your response,

Nathan

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I have signed up on the ebay auction lister web site several months ago and havent yet recieved a message on whats going on with the add-on. I see there are a few downloads but Im assuming its not the full application due to the remarks at the top of the page. I read that if a donation was given then we will be one of the first to recieve the downloads. Is this true? Anyways, just curious on when it will be ready and I looked at the test site and it looks awsome! Thanks for taking the time to make this add-on for us Zeners!!!!

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I do apologize. I have been working some extra jobs to make some money to pay for things.

The files are up. The front end isn't. So that means your end of auction emails will be sent but they won't be able to checkout correctly. I never received any response from anyone willing to help me write the front end except for Chris and he is pretty busy too so I try not to bug him.

It is considered non-stable so you install this at your own risk. I highly suggest you put up a test site (which you really should have anyway) to avoid breaking anything in your production site.

Yes I can email you and let you know. I have added mass contact module to the site so that I can email all registered users when it is ready.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I just wanted to let you guys know that I have been working on the shopping cart class for Zen cart for the past two days and things are coming along.

I am used to programming with globals and since they are gone in Zen cart it does make things more interesting when I am passing data around in the cart.

I haven't forgotten about you all. You are about 50% of the users on my site. That says it all right there. :0)

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I think I found out where I need to be on the Zen stuff. Now it looks like a matter of just coding in the auction logics into the write places.

Right now when the person clicks on the link in the email the user is taken to the Zen cart and logged in and is automatically dropped to their basket with the correct eBay products. Only the shopping cart is using your inventory price and not the eBay pricing.

So hopefully today I can at least get that part solved. I will post more later this evening.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I posted up the login page if any of you want to have a look at what I am doing.

I am still working on the shopping cart class file and writing. There are about 3000 lines of code to compare.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I am attempting to squeeze out a UK release tonight for the folks that live there.

Not much has changed as I am still working on the Zen class files. It's coming but slowly.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

I managed to get eBay US, UK, Canada and Australia all working from the same auction form last night. I need to package it up and put it in the Downloads section.

You guys can still use this software to post auctions on eBay. There just isn't a way to automatically have them checkout through your cart as of yet. So it will help reduce your existing eBay workload a bit.

Re: List your Zen inventory on eBay

When the item is won on eBay and the winner successfully checks out on your cart then your cart will subtract one automatically from your inventory.

At this time I don't have inventory management built into ALP. It is something I plan to do however in future releases.

We are working on the Zen front end files now. I hope to have this done very soon.
