david i think we should realy chat, i have been on the phone for almost 2 weeks now looking for something like this, my web builder has already built a database program for zencart but we are have trouble with the ending auctions part, maybe we can add what we have to yours and figure this other part out?

Posting and ending auctions works just fine in ALP with Zen cart. There isn't an installer yet but there is an install guide of sorts included in the archive.

Still working on the front end. I don't have any ETA on that at the moment other than I am working on it full time.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much I've been dealing with a million things, but I've been following this thread in the wee hours of the morning when not working, and just wanted to cheer you on! and express my thanks for working so hard on this! :clap:

Ihave read the thread has this program been listed in the download session? Or should we download the program on your website.

where would i find the download for testing?

Because the product is still considered beta you will have to download it from my website. Once it is considered stable and fully functional with Zen cart I will put it in the 3rd party mods Download section here.

I would hold off though if you can as I am putting the finishing touches on the web based installer so you won't incur a bunch of headaches attempting to get it to work.

How strongly recommended are the bolded items? I don't see the 3 bolded items as part of a common Server setup at this time.

Would seem a shame for a Mod that could be much in demand but not have the Majority of people able to use it.

When I say "recommended" I am referring to speed and performance.

I am using a custom SOAP client library. You don't need to worry about that piece as it already is included with the eBay API library.

It works just fine with the minimum components. I test on the minimum and the recommended and I do notice considerable speed improvements on the latter.

My low end testing machine is a PIII running Kubuntu with 64MB RAM. It's fast but not lightening quick like the recommended machine. For example, Category inserts take about 10-20 seconds on the lower end machine and about 2 seconds on the recommended machine.

I have also worked on a lot of shared hosting issues. ALP should run fine in a shared hosting environment for the time being.

Getting eBay categories using the API will not work on a shared host so I have included the database information you will need to get you started with the installer.

I have a separate Category installer feature that I am putting into the admin panel so if you are on a shared server you can retrieve your categories from me if they are updated from eBay.

just 1 question though did you ever get the front end sorted so the ebayer is directed to our websites instead of ebay checkout?

A fellow Zen user wants some custom eBay work done on his shop using ALP so I am working on Zen exclusively now without starving. :smile:

I don't have an ETA for when the work will be done. I am doing things a lot differently than the other cart.

Is the latest version of ALP, on your site, pretty stable or should I wait until the next release before adding it to my cart? Thanks!
